Description

防眩・反射防止部材及びその製造方法
 本発明は、防眩・反射防止部材及びその製造方法に関する。
 従来、表示装置の視認性を向上する観点から、表示装置の表示面上に反射防止層やアンチグレア層を設けることが提案されている。例えば特許文献1には、基材の上に低屈折率層からなる反射防止層を設けると共に、低屈折率層の表面がアンチグレア処理された、反射防止機能と防眩機能とを兼ね備える反射防止層が記載されている。

 表示装置の視認性をさらに高めたいという要望がある。
 本発明の主な目的は、優れた視認性を有する防眩・反射防止部材を提供することにある。
 本発明に係る防眩・反射防止部材は、基材と、反射防止層とを備えている。基材の表層には、凹凸構造を有するアンチグレア層が設けられている。反射防止層は、アンチグレア層の上に設けられている。
 基材は、基材本体と、基材本体の上に配されており、アンチグレア層を構成している島状層とを有していてもよい。
 基材本体は、樹脂フィルム、ガラスフィルム、樹脂板またはガラス板により構成されていてもよい。
 本発明に係る防眩・反射防止部材は、基材の反射防止層とは反対側の表面の上に設けられた反射防止層をさらに備えることが好ましい。
 反射防止層は、基材よりも低い屈折率を有する低屈折率層により構成されていてもよい。
 反射防止層は、相対的に低い屈折率を有する低屈折率層と、相対的に高い屈折率を有する高屈折率層とが交互に積層されてなるものであってもよい。
 反射防止層の上に、フッ素を含む防汚層をさらに備えていてもよい。
 本発明に係る第1の防眩・反射防止部材の製造方法は、上記防眩・反射防止部材を製造する方法に関する。透光板の表面上にスプレー法により透光性材料を塗布することにより島状層を形成し、透光板及び島状層とからなる基材を作製する。
 本発明に係る第2の防眩・反射防止部材の製造方法は、上記防眩・反射防止部材を製造する方法に関する。透光板の表面をブラスト処理して凹凸構造を形成することにより基材を作製する。
 本発明に係る第2の防眩・反射防止部材の製造方法において、透光板の表面をブラスト処理した後にエッチングすることが好ましい。
 本発明によれば、優れた視認性を有する防眩・反射防止部材を提供することができる。
図1は、本発明の一実施形態に係る防眩・反射防止部材の模式的断面図である。 図2は、本発明の他の実施形態に係る防眩・反射防止部材の模式的断面図である。
 以下、本発明を実施した好ましい形態の一例について説明する。但し、下記の実施形態は、単なる例示である。本発明は、下記の実施形態に何ら限定されない。
 また、実施形態等において参照する各図面において、実質的に同一の機能を有する部材は同一の符号で参照することとする。また、実施形態等において参照する図面は、模式的に記載されたものであり、図面に描画された物体の寸法の比率などは、現実の物体の寸法の比率などとは異なる場合がある。図面相互間においても、物体の寸法比率等が異なる場合がある。具体的な物体の寸法比率等は、以下の説明を参酌して判断されるべきである。
 図1は、本実施形態に係る防眩・反射防止部材の模式的断面図である。図1に示される防眩・反射防止部材1は、例えば、表示装置の表示面に配されて表示装置の視認性を改善するための部材である。防眩・反射防止部材1は、表示装置の表示面の上に取り付けられるフィルム状の部材であってもよいし、表示装置の前面板を構成する部材であってもよい。すなわち、表示装置に事後的に取り付けられる部材であってもよいし、表示装置の構成部材のひとつであってもよい。
 防眩・反射防止部材1は、基材10を有する。基材10の表層には、凹凸構造を有し、防眩機能を持つアンチグレア層10aが設けられている。具体的には、本実施形態では、基材10は、基材本体11と、島状層12とを有する。
 基材本体11の構成材料は、透光性を有する部材であれば特に限定されない。基材本体11は、例えば、樹脂フィルム、ガラスフィルム、樹脂板またはガラス板により構成することができる。ガラス板は、例えば、無アルカリガラス基板、ソーダライムガラス基板、化学強化ガラス基板などにより構成することができる。
 基材本体11は、防眩・反射防止部材1の使用状態において、表示装置側を向く第1の主面11aと、観察者側を向く第2の主面11bとを有する。本実施形態においては、第1及び第2の主面11a、11bは、それぞれ平坦面により構成されている。
 第2の主面11bの上には、島状層12が設けられている。この島状層12によりアンチグレア層10aが構成されている。島状層12は、島状に設けられた層である。この第2の主面11bの一部分を覆う島状層12が設けられることにより凹凸構造が形成されている。凹凸構造は、規則性を有していないことが好ましい。この場合、アンチグレア層10aのアンチグレア機能が向上するためである。
 島状層12の構成材料は、透光性を有し、且つ基材本体11と密着するものである限りにおいて特に限定されない。島状層12は、例えば、SiO、TiO、Al、ZrOなどにより構成することができる。
 アンチグレア層10aの上には、反射防止層20を有する。従って、反射防止層20は、凹凸構造の上に設けられている。
 反射防止層20は、表面反射率を低減する機能を有する層である。反射防止層20は、反射防止層20を設けないときよりも、反射防止層20を設けたときの方が表面反射率が低くなる層であればよく、表面反射率がゼロになる層である必要は必ずしもない。
 反射防止層20は、例えば、基材10よりも屈折率が低い低屈折率層により構成されていてもよい。また、反射防止層20は、相対的に屈折率が低い低屈折率層と相対的に屈折率が高い高屈折率層とが交互に積層された誘電体多層膜により構成されていてもよい。
 ところで、反射防止層の反射抑制機能は、反射防止層の厚みに大きく左右される。このため、反射抑制機能は、一般的に、平坦面の上に設けられる。従って、例えば、アンチグレア層と反射防止層とを設ける場合には、まず、基材の平坦面の上に反射防止層を形成し、反射防止層の上にアンチグレア層を形成する必要があると考えられていた。
 しかしながら、本発明者らが鋭意研究した結果、凹凸構造を有するアンチグレア層10aの上に反射防止層20を設けることにより表示装置の視認性をさらに改善できることを見いだした。すなわち、反射防止層20をアンチグレア層10aの上に配した場合であっても、十分な反射抑制機能が得られることが本発明者らにより見いだされた。
 防眩・反射防止部材1では、アンチグレア層10aが設けられているため、優れた防眩特性を得ることができる。さらに、アンチグレア層10aの上に反射防止層20が配されているため、アンチグレア層10aにおける反射率が低減されている。よって、アンチグレア層10aによって乱反射された光の光量を低減することができる。従って、より優れた防眩特性を得ることができる。
 また、観者側の最表層に反射防止層20が設けられているため、背景の映り込みも低減することができる。
 このように、防眩・反射防止部材1を用いた場合は、背景の映り込みを抑制しつつ、優れた防眩特性を実現することができる。従って、防眩・反射防止部材1を用いることによって表示装置の視認性を向上させることができる。
 反射防止層20の上に、反射防止層20の機能が損なわれない程度の厚みを有する別の層が形成されていてもよい。例えば、図2に示すように、反射防止層20の上に、厚みが、200nm以下のフッ素を含む防汚層30が形成されていてもよい。フッ素を含む防汚層30は、例えば、-Si-O-Si-結合(シロキサン結合)を有し、かつ、フッ素を含む撥水性の官能基を有する重合体であってもよい。フッ素を含む防汚層においては、シロキサン結合は2分子のシラノールを脱水縮合することにより合成される。
 防眩・反射防止部材1は、第1の主面11aの上に、粘着剤層または接着剤層を設けてもよい。粘着剤層または接着剤層を介して、防眩・反射防止部材1を液晶ディスプレイなどのディスプレイ画面上に粘着または接着させることができる。
 なお、防眩・反射防止部材1は、例えば以下の要領で製造することができる。まず、例えばガラスや樹脂からなる透光板としての基材本体11の上に、スプレー法により透光性材料を塗布し、乾燥させることにより島状層12を形成し、基材10を作製する。その後、基材10の島状層12の上に反射防止層20を形成することにより防眩・反射防止部材1を製造することができる。反射防止層20は、例えば、スパッタリング法やCVD(Chemical Vapor Deposition)法などにより形成することができる。
 基材10は、例えば、透光板の表面をブラスト処理して凹凸構造を形成することにより作製することもできる。この場合、ブラスト処理をした後に、表面にエッチングを施しておくことが好ましい。なお、例えば基材が薄いガラス板やガラスフィルムにより構成されている場合は、ブラスト処理により基材が損傷するおそれがあるため、スプレー法を用いてアンチグレア層10aを形成することが好ましい。
 以下、本発明について、具体的な実施例に基づいて、さらに詳細に説明するが、本発明は以下の実施例に何ら限定されるものではなく、その要旨を変更しない範囲において適宜変更して実施することが可能である。
 (実施例1)
 厚さ0.5mm、表面粗さ(Ra)が約0.2nmの日本電気硝子社製無アルカリガラスOA-10G基板上に、スプレー法を用いて、SiOからなり、凹凸構造を有するアンチグレア層を形成した。アンチグレア層の平均厚みは、約500nmであった。アンチグレア層のヘイズ値は、約12であった。
 次に、アンチグレア層の上に、スパッタリング法を用いて、SiO層とNb層とを交互に合計5層形成した。これにより、アンチグレア層の上に、SiO層とNb層とが交互に積層されてなる反射防止層を設けた。以上の要領で、防眩・反射防止部材を作製した。
 得られた防眩・反射防止部材に対して、外景の映り込みとコントラストに関する評価を、下記の方法により行った。結果を表1に示す。
 外景の映り込みについては、垂線に対し60°の角度から目視にて確認した際に、外景の映り込みがほとんど確認できなかったものを「◎」、少し確認できたものを「○」、確認できたものを「△」、はっきりと確認できたものを「×」として評価した。
 コントラストについては、液晶画面上に防眩・反射防止部材を載置し、防眩・反射防止部材を通じて液晶画面上の画像を観察することにより評価した。具体的には、画像が、液晶画面をそのまま観察したときよりも明瞭に見えた場合を「◎」、液晶画面をそのまま観察したときと同程度に明瞭に見えた場合を「○」、液晶画面をそのまま観察したときよりもぼやけて見えた場合を「×」として評価した。
 (比較例1)
 実施例1と同様にして、基板上にアンチグレア層のみを形成し、反射防止層は設けなかった。得られた部材について、実施例1と同様にして外景の映り込みとコントラストについて評価を行った。結果を表1に示す。
 (比較例2)
 実施例1と同様にして、基板上に反射防止層のみを形成し、アンチグレア層は設けなかった。得られた部材について、実施例1と同様にして外景の映り込みとコントラストについて評価を行った。結果を表1に示す。

 表1に示された結果から明らかなように、実施例1では、外景の映り込みがほとんどなく、コントラストも良好であった。一方、比較例1では、外景の映り込みは少し確認できた程度であったが、コントラストの低下が大きかった。比較例2では、コントラストは良好であったが、外景の映り込み防止が不十分であった。
 (実施例2)
 厚さ0.7mm、表面粗さ(Ra)が約0.2nm、熱膨張係数が102×10-7/℃のガラス基板上に、スプレー法を用いて、SiOからなり、凹凸構造を有するアンチグレア層を形成した。アンチグレア層の平均厚みは、約200nmであった。アンチグレア層のヘイズ値は、約6.5であった。
 次に、アンチグレア層の上と、基板のアンチグレア層とは反対側の表面の上とに、それぞれ、スパッタリング法を用いて、SiO層とNb層とを交互に合計5層形成した。これにより、アンチグレア層の上に、SiO層とNb層とが交互に積層されてなる反射防止層を設けた。以上の要領で、防眩・反射防止部材を作製した。
 得られた防眩・反射防止部材に対して、外景の映り込みとコントラストに関する評価を行った。外景の映り込みに関しては、実施例1と同様の評価を行った。コントラストについては、液晶画面上に、画面との間に2.5mmのギャップをあけて防眩・反射防止部材を載置したこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして評価を行った。その結果、実施例2においても、実施例1と同様に、外景の映り込みがほとんど確認できず(◎)、液晶画面をそのまま観察したときと同程度に明瞭に見えた(○)。
 防眩・反射防止部材の熱膨張係数と、液晶画面の熱膨張係数とは、常に同じではない。防眩・反射防止部材の熱膨張係数と、液晶画面の熱膨張係数とが異なっている場合には、防眩・反射防止部材と液晶画面とを密着させると、温度が変化した際に、防眩・反射防止部材と液晶画面とに応力が加わる。このため、防眩・反射防止部材と液晶画面とを離間させて配置させたい場合もある。しかしながら、防眩・反射防止部材と液晶画面との間にギャップを設けると、通常は、コントラストが低下する傾向にある。しかしながら、本実施例2のように、アンチグレア層の上に反射防止層を設けると共に、基板のアンチグレア層とは反対側の表面の上にも反射防止層を設けた場合は、防眩・反射防止部材と液晶画面との間にギャップが存在してもコントラストが良好であった。良好なコントラストを得る観点からは、本実施例2のように、アンチグレア層の上に反射防止層を設けると共に、基板のアンチグレア層とは反対側の表面の上にも反射防止層を設けることが好ましい。
 (実施例3)
 実施例1と同様にして得られた防眩・反射防止部材の反射防止層の上に、以下のようにして防汚層を設けた。
 反射防止層の上に、フッ素系コーティング剤(ダイキン社製、オプツールDSX(登録商標))を塗布し、乾燥させることにより、防汚層を形成した。防汚層の厚みは、約20nmであった。
 得られた防眩・反射防止部材は、基板の上に形成されたアンチグレア層と、アンチグレア層の上に形成された反射防止層と、反射防止層の上に形成された防汚層を有する。
 得られた防眩・反射防止部材に対して、外景の映り込みとコントラストに関する評価を行った。外景の映り込みに関しては、実施例1と同様の評価を行った。コントラストについては、第1の主面上に接着剤層を塗布し、液晶画面と接着剤層を介して接着させたこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして評価を行った。なお、接着剤としては、信越化学社製KE1051J A/Bを用い、接着剤層の厚みは5μmとした。その結果、実施例3においても、実施例1及び2と同様に、外景の映り込みがほとんど確認できず(◎)、液晶画面をそのまま観察したときと同程度に明確に見えた(○)。
 さらに、防汚層の耐剥離性について、以下のようにして評価した。
 防汚層の耐剥離性については、防汚層の上に、スチールウール#0000を配置し、500gf/cmの荷重をかけた状態で、スチールウールを40mmのストローク長で、40往復/分の速度で前後方向に2000回往復させた後の、防汚層と水滴との接触角を測定することにより評価した。なお、接触角は、young公式に基づくATAN1/2θ法に基づいて測定した。具体的には、接触角が、スチールウールを配置する前の接触角と同程度であった場合を「○」、スチールウールを配置する前の接触角よりも大きく低下した場合を「×」として評価した。
 その結果、接触角は、スチールウールを配置する前の接触角と同程度であった(○)。
 (比較例3)
 実施例1の防眩・反射防止部材の代わりに、比較例2の部材を用い、この部材の反射防止層の上に、実施例3と同様にして防汚層を形成した。得られた部材について、実施例3と同様にして外景の映り込みとコントラストについて評価を行った。
 その結果、比較例2の結果と同様に、コントラストは良好であった(◎)が、外景の映り込み防止が不十分であった(△)。
 また、実施例3と同様にして、防汚層の耐剥離性について評価した。その結果、スチールウールを配置する前の接触角よりも大きく低下した(×)。
 (実施例4)
 厚さ0.1mm、表面粗さ(Ra)が約0.2nmの日本電気硝子社製のアルカリガラスOA-10G基板上に、スプレー法を用いて、SiOからなり、凹凸構造を有するアンチグレア層を形成した。アンチグレア層の平均厚みは、約60nmであった。アンチグレア層のヘイズ値は、約3であった。
 次に、アンチグレア層の上に、実施例1と同様にして反射防止層を設けた。
 さらに、実施例3と同様にして、反射防止層の上に、防汚層を形成した。
 得られた防眩・反射防止部材に対して、外景の映り込みとコントラストに関する評価を行った。外景の映り込みに関しては、実施例1と同様の評価を行った。コントラストについては、防眩・反射防止部材の第1の主面上に、粘着剤層を設け、粘着剤層を介して、タッチパネル付きディスプレイの上に粘着させたこと以外は、実施例1と同様にして評価を行った。なお、粘着剤としては、パナック社製PD-S1を用い、粘着剤層の厚みは25μmとした。その結果、外景への映り込みは少し確認できた(○)。コントラストについては、タッチパネル付きディスプレイをそのまま観察したときよりも明瞭に見えた(◎)。
 また、防汚層の耐剥離性についても、実施例3と同様にして評価した。その結果、接触角は、スチールウールを配置する前の接触角と同程度であった(○)。

Claims (10)

  1.  表層に凹凸構造を有するアンチグレア層が設けられた基材と、
     前記アンチグレア層の上に設けられた反射防止層と、
    を備える、防眩・反射防止部材。
  2.  前記基材は、
     基材本体と、
     前記基材本体の上に配されており、前記アンチグレア層を構成している島状層と、
    を有する、請求項1に記載の防眩・反射防止部材。
  3.  前記基材本体は、樹脂フィルム、ガラスフィルム、樹脂板またはガラス板により構成されている、請求項2に記載の防眩・反射防止部材。
  4.  前記基材の前記反射防止層とは反対側の表面の上に設けられた反射防止層をさらに備える、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の防眩・反射防止部材。
  5.  前記反射防止層は、前記基材よりも低い屈折率を有する低屈折率層により構成されている、請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の防眩・反射防止部材。
  6.  前記反射防止層は、相対的に低い屈折率を有する低屈折率層と、相対的に高い屈折率を有する高屈折率層とが交互に積層されてなる、請求項1~4のいずれか一項に記載の防眩・反射防止部材。
  7.  前記反射防止層の上に設けられたフッ素を含む防汚層をさらに備える、請求項1~6のいずれか一項に記載の防眩・反射防止部材。
  8.  請求項1~7のいずれか一項に記載の防眩・反射防止部材の製造方法であって、
     透光板の表面上にスプレー法により透光性材料を塗布することにより島状層を形成し、前記透光板及び前記島状層とからなる前記基材を作製する、防眩・反射防止部材の製造方法。
  9.  請求項1~7のいずれか一項に記載の防眩・反射防止部材の製造方法であって、
     透光板の表面をブラスト処理して前記凹凸構造を形成することにより前記基材を作製する、防眩・反射防止部材の製造方法。
  10.  前記透光板の表面をブラスト処理した後にエッチングする、請求項9に記載の防眩・反射防止部材の製造方法。
