クランプ駆動時には、上記複数のグリップ部材が半径方向の外方へ押し出されるので、隣り合うグリップ部材同士の間に大きな隙間が形成される。その隙間に切粉や塵埃等の異物が噛み込むと、上記グリップ部材は、半径方向の内方へ復帰できず、その半径方向の外方位置に保持されてしまう。この状態で、ワークの孔を上記複数のグリップ部材に嵌合させようとすると、その孔の周壁の下部が上記グリップ部材の上端に衝突して、そのグリップ部材が破損する。
また、上記の従来技術では、クランプロッドのテーパ面と上記グリップ部材のテーパ面との嵌合部が上向きに露出している。このため、そのテーパ嵌合部に上記の異物が噛み込んで、上記テーパ面を損傷させるおそれがある。
以上の理由により、上記の従来技術のクランプ装置は、故障の頻度が高くてメンテナンスに手間がかかる。
本発明の目的は、メンテナンスに手間がかからないクランプ装置を提供することにある。
ガイド部材16は頂壁17及び周壁18を有し、上記頂壁17及び周壁18がハウジング1よりも先端側へ突出されると共に被固定物20の孔21に挿入される。上記ガイド部材16は、基端側へ移動されるロックストロークの領域内で、当該ガイド部材16を先端側へ押す進出手段26に抗して基端側へ移動可能な状態で上記ハウジング1に挿入される。上記ガイド部材16の上記周壁18に複数のガイド溝23が周方向へ所定の間隔をあけて形成されると共に、その周壁18に各ガイド溝23が半径方向へ貫通される。上記の各ガイド溝23に半径方向へ移動可能に挿入されたロック部材24が弾性体50(又は52)によって上記の半径方向の内方へ付勢される。各ロック部材24は、上記の被固定物20の上記孔21の内周面に押付けられる係合部45を有する。クランプロッド32は、上記の各ロック部材24に先端側から係合する楔面35を有し、上記ガイド部材16に挿入された状態で駆動手段Dによって基端側へクランプ駆動されると共に先端側へアンクランプ駆動される。
アンクランプ状態では、ガイド部材および複数のロック部材が進出手段の所定の力によって上昇位置に保持されている。クランプ駆動時には、まず、クランプロッドが、上記の所定の力で上昇位置に保持されたロック部材を、ガイド部材の周壁に形成されたガイド溝に沿って半径方向の外方へ押し出し、そのロック部材に設けた係合部をワークの孔に係合させる。引き続いて、クランプロッドが、ワークに係合した状態のロック部材と上記ガイド部材を進出手段に抗して下降させる。これにより、クランプロッドが上記係合部を介してワークを下向きに引っ張り、そのワークをハウジングの上面に固定する。
ここで、ガイド部材の周壁に形成された前記ガイド溝と上記ロック部材との間には、当該ロック部材の半径方向への移動を許容するための微小隙間を形成するだけでよい。このため、本発明は、前記の従来技術とは異なり、ロック部材に切粉や塵埃等の異物が噛み込むのを防止でき、前記弾性体が上記ロック部材を半径方向の内方へ円滑に復帰させる。従って、ロック部材に対してワークの孔を円滑に着脱でき、上記ロック部材が破損するのを防止できる。
また、クランプロッドの楔面とロック部材との嵌合部は、上記ガイド部材の頂壁と周壁によって囲まれた空間に収容されるので、その嵌合部に上記の異物が噛み込むことも防止できる。
以上の理由により、本発明のクランプ装置は、故障を防止でき、メンテナンスに手間がかからない。
この場合、上記ガイド部材は、簡素な構成で容易に製作できるうえ耐久性が高い。また、上記クランプロッドの組み込み及び取り外しが容易になるので、この点からもメンテナンスに手間がかからない。
前記ガイド部材16の前記周壁18は、前記被固定物20の前記孔21に挿入される案内部40と、その案内部40よりも大径に形成されると共に前記ハウジング1に挿入されたガイドベース部41とを備える。上記ガイド部材16の上記ガイドベース部41と、当該ガイド部材16に同行して軸心方向へ移動する連動部材27とのいずれかに、前記ロック部材24の基端面24aを半径方向へ移動可能に支持する。
この場合、大径のガイドベース部または連動部材にロック部材の基端面を支持できるので、前記クランプ駆動時にロック部材が傾くのを防止でき、そのロック部材が円滑に移動する。
この場合、上記ガイド溝に挿入されるロック部材の背丈を高くできるうえ、そのロック部材の大径のロックベース部を前記の大径のガイドベース部または連動部材によって案内できるので、前記クランプ駆動時にロック部材が傾くのを確実に防止でき、そのロック部材がさらに円滑に移動する。
この場合、ワークの搬入時に上記ワークの孔をガイド部材に外嵌するときに、その孔の周壁がロック部材に衝突するのをガイド部材によって防止できるので、ロック部材を長期間にわたって良好に使用できる。
この場合、ガイド部材の周壁において、前記の案内部よりも厚肉に形成したガイドベース部に装着溝を形成することになるので、その案内部に装着溝を形成する場合と比べて、ガイド部材の強度が大きくなる。
これにより、ハウジング内に切粉や塵埃等の異物が侵入するのを確実に防止できる。
これにより、前記クランプ駆動時にロック部材が傾くのを確実に防止でき、そのロック部材がさらに円滑に移動する。
上記ピストン5とクランプ室10とアンクランプ室12とが、後述するクランプロッド32の駆動手段Dを構成している。
上記周壁18に3つのガイド溝23が周方向へ所定の間隔をあけて形成されると共に半径方向へ貫通される。上記の各ガイド溝23にロック部材24が半径方向へ移動可能に挿入される。
また、上記クランプロッド32の外周面と前記の連動部材27との間に形成された環状隙間に、U字状のパッキン37が装着される。そのパッキン37は、切削油等の異物が駆動手段D内に侵入するのを防止すると共に、上記クランプロッド32を半径方向の内方へ付勢している
ガイド部材16の前記周壁18は、ワーク20の前記孔21に挿入される案内部40と、その案内部40よりも大径に形成されると共に前記の上ハウジング2に挿入されるガイドベース部41とを備える。そのガイドベース部41の下部から半径方向の外方へフランジ42が突出され、そのフランジ42が前記の中径孔2bに半径方向へ移動可能に挿入される。
これにより、上記ガイド部材16及び前記クランプロッド32がハウジング1に対して半径方向へ移動可能に配置される。
また、上記ガイド溝23に挿入される前記ロック部材24は、ワーク20の上記孔21の内周面に押付けられる係合部45と、その係合部45よりも下側に形成されたロックベース部46とによって構成される。そのロックベース部46は、上記係合部45よりも半径方向の外方へ突出されて厚肉に形成されている。上記ロック部材24の下端面(基端面)24aとしてのロックベース部46の下面が、ガイドベース部41の上記フランジ42の上面に半径方向へ移動可能に支持される。
さらに、上ハウジング2の前記の小径孔2cと前記ガイドベース部41との間に形成された環状空間に、ガイド部材16を半径方向の内方へ付勢するダストシール(弾性体)52が配置される。そのダストシール52は、合成樹脂等によって構成されており、その内周部が前記弾性体50の外周面に接当されている。これにより、上記ダストシール52がロック部材24及びガイド部材16を半径方向の内方へ付勢する。
図1Aから図1Cのアンクランプ状態では、クランプ室10の圧油が排出されると共にアンクランプ室12に圧油が供給されている。これにより、ピストン5がクランプロッド32を上方のアンクランプ位置へ移動させ、皿バネ28が連動部材27を介してガイド部材16及びロック部材24を上方のリリース位置へ移動させ、各ロック部材24が弾性体50によって半径方向の内方へ付勢される。このため、ロック部材24の係合部45の外周面が、ガイド部材16の周壁18の案内部40の外周面よりも内方に後退されている。これにより、下記のワーク搬入時に、ワーク20の孔21の周壁がロック部材24に衝突するのを上記ガイド部材16によって防止できる。
このとき、上ハウジング2の着座面58とワーク20の下面との間には接当隙間Gが形成されているので、前記噴出孔59から加圧エアが排出され、その噴出孔59に連通されたエア供給口(図示せず)の圧力が低下する。その圧力低下を圧力スイッチ(着座センサ)が検出することにより、クランプ装置がアンクランプ状態であることを確認できる。
すると、まず、皿バネ28の付勢力によって上昇位置に保持されたガイド部材16及びロック部材24に対してクランプロッド32が下降していき、そのクランプロッド32の楔面35がロック部材24を半径方向の外方へ押し出し、各ロック部材24の係合部45がワーク20の孔21の内周面を塑性変形させたり当該内周面に摩擦接当したりすることにより、上記孔21に係合する。次いで、その係合状態で、皿バネ28の付勢力に抗してクランプロッド32がロック部材24及びガイド部材16を下向きにロック駆動する。これにより、上記ロック部材24がワーク20を下向きに引っ張り、そのワーク20の下面が上ハウジング2の着座面58に固定される。
そして、上記ガイド部材16のロックストロークの初期(クランプ駆動の初期)には、図1Aと図1Bに示すように、第1受止め部54は、各ロック部材24のロックベース部46の内側面の下端部が半径方向の内方へ移動するのを阻止している。また、ロックストロークの中期から終期(クランプ駆動の中期から終期)には、図2Bに示すように、第2受止め部55は、各ロックベース部46の内側面の下端部が半径方向の内方へ移動するのを阻止している。これにより、クランプロッド32の楔面35によって半径方向の外方へ押される各ロック部材24が傾くことが防止され、上記ロック部材24が半径方向の外方へ円滑に移動される。
前述したようにワーク20の下面が上ハウジング2の着座面58に固定されたときには、前記噴出孔59が閉じられるので、その噴出孔59に連通されたエア供給口(図示せず)の圧力が所定の圧力へ上昇する。その圧力上昇を圧力スイッチ(着座センサ)が検出することにより、ワーク20が着座状態であることを確認できる。
なお、この第2実施形態において、上記連動部材27の外周面と上ハウジング2の大径孔2aとの間に環状の隙間を形成してもよい。これにより、ハウジング1に対してガイド部材16及びクランプロッド32が半径方向へ移動可能になる。
上記構造により、ガイド部材16のロックストロークの全領域において、下側の楔面35が、上記ロック部材24の半径方向の内側面の下端部に接当されるので、そのロック部材24が傾くのを確実に防止できる。
なお、クランプ装置をアンクランプ状態(図示せず)へ切り換えたときには、上記ロック部材24の外周おび弾性体50の外周が、案内部40の外周よりも内方に位置される。
前記ガイド部材16の前記頂壁17及び前記周壁18は、継ぎ目なしで一体に形成することに代えて、その周壁18に頂壁17をネジ止めしたものであってもよい。
前記進出手段26は、例示の皿バネ28を代えて、圧縮コイルバネやゴム等の弾性体を利用可能であり、また、その弾性体を利用する構造に代えて、圧油を利用した構造であってもよく(例えば、前述の従来技術としての特許第4297511号公報を参照)、さらには、圧油に代えて圧縮空気等を利用した構造であってもよい。
なお、上記の弾性体50を省略して、前記ロック部材24を前記ダストシール(弾性体)52だけによって半径方向の内方へ付勢してもよい。また、上記ダストシール52は本来の異物侵入防止の機能だけを備えるようにして、前記ロック部材24を前記弾性体50だけによって半径方向の内方へ付勢してもよい。
前記ガイド溝23およびロック部材24の設置数量は、例示した3つが好ましいが、2つ又は4つであってもよく、5つ以上でも可能である。
上記ロック部材24の係合部45の外周面の形状は、例示した鋸刃状に代えて、平面や球面等であってもよい。
前記クランプロッド32の楔面35の形状は、例示した平面に代えて円弧面などであってもよい。
その他に、当業者が想定できる範囲で種々の変更を行えることは勿論である。
Claims (15)
- ハウジング(1)よりも先端側へ突出されると共に被固定物(20)の孔(21)に挿入される頂壁(17)及び周壁(18)を有するガイド部材(16)であって、そのガイド部材(16)が基端側へ移動されるロックストロークの領域内では当該ガイド部材(16)を先端側へ押す進出手段(26)に抗して基端側へ移動可能な状態で上記ハウジング(1)に挿入されたガイド部材(16)と、
上記ガイド部材(16)の上記周壁(18)に周方向へ所定の間隔をあけて形成されると共に半径方向へ貫通された複数のガイド溝(23)と、
上記の各ガイド溝(23)に半径方向へ移動可能に挿入されると共に弾性体(50,52)によって上記の半径方向の内方へ付勢されるロック部材(24)であって、上記の被固定物(20)の上記孔(21)の内周面に押付けられる係合部(45)を有するロック部材(24)と、
上記の各ロック部材(24)に先端側から係合する楔面(35)を有するクランプロッド(32)であって、上記ガイド部材(16)に挿入された状態で駆動手段(D)によって基端側へクランプ駆動されると共に先端側へアンクランプ駆動されるクランプロッド(32)と、
を備える、ことを特徴とするクランプ装置。 - 請求項1のクランプ装置において、
前記ガイド部材(16)の前記頂壁(17)及び前記周壁(18)を継ぎ目なしで一体に形成し、前記クランプロッド(32)を、上記周壁(18)の前記の基端側から上記ガイド部材(16)内に挿入可能に構成した、
ことを特徴とするクランプ装置。 - 請求項1のクランプ装置において、
前記ガイド部材(16)の前記周壁(18)は、前記被固定物(20)の前記孔(21)に挿入される案内部(40)と、その案内部(40)よりも大径に形成されると共に前記ハウジング(1)に挿入されたガイドベース部(41)とを備え、
上記ガイド部材(16)の上記ガイドベース部(41)と、当該ガイド部材(16)に同行して軸心方向へ移動する連動部材(27)とのいずれかに、前記ロック部材(24)の基端面(24a)を半径方向へ移動可能に支持した、
ことを特徴とするクランプ装置。 - 請求項3のクランプ装置において、
前記の各ガイド溝(23)を、前記ガイド部材(16)の前記案内部(40)と前記ガイドベース部(41)とに連ねて形成し、
前記ロック部材(24)を、先端側に設けた前記係合部(45)と、その係合部(45)よりも基端側で当該係合部(45)よりも半径方向の外方へ厚肉に突出されたロックベース部(46)とによって構成した、
ことを特徴とするクランプ装置。 - 請求項3のクランプ装置において、
前記クランプロッド(32)がアンクランプ駆動されたアンクランプ状態では、前記ロック部材(24)の前記係合部(45)の外周面を、前記周壁(18)の前記案内部(40)の外周面よりも半径方向の内方へ位置させた、
ことを特徴とするクランプ装置。 - 請求項4のクランプ装置において、
前記ガイドベース部(41)の外周面と前記ロックベース部(46)の外周面とに、環状に形成した前記弾性体(50)を装着した、
ことを特徴とするクランプ装置。 - 請求項6のクランプ装置において、
前記ガイドベース部(41)の前記外周面と前記ロックベース部(46)の前記外周面とに、周方向の装着溝(48)(49)をそれぞれ形成し、上記装着溝(48)(49)に、薄肉で帯状に形成した前記の弾性体(50)を装着した、
ことを特徴とするクランプ装置。 - 請求項4のクランプ装置において、
前記ハウジング(1)と前記ガイドベース部(41)との間の環状空間に、前記ガイド部材(16)と前記ロック部材(24)との少なくとも一方を半径方向の内方へ付勢するように前記の弾性体(52)を配置した、
ことを特徴とするクランプ装置。 - 請求項8のクランプ装置において、
前記ハウジング(1)と前記ガイドベース部(41)との間に配置した前記の弾性体(52)をダストシールによって構成し、前記ガイドベース部(41)の外周面と前記ロックベース部(46)の外周面とに装着した前記弾性体(50)の外周面に、上記ダストシールの内周部を接当させた、
ことを特徴とするクランプ装置。 - 請求項4から9のいずれかのクランプ装置において、
前記ロックベース部(46)の半径方向の内側面の基端部が半径方向の内方へ移動するのを阻止する受止め部(54,55)を、前記クランプロッド(32)の外周に設けた、
ことを特徴とするクランプ装置。 - 請求項4から9のいずれかのクランプ装置において、
前記ロック部材(24)の半径方向の内側面に複数の受け面(34)を軸心方向に並べて設け、前記クランプロッド(32)に、上記複数の受け面(34)に先端側から係合する楔面(35)(35)を軸心方向に並べて設けた、
ことを特徴とするクランプ装置。 - 請求項1から3のいずれかのクランプ装置において、
前記ガイド部材(16)の外周面と前記の複数のロック部材(24)の外周面とに、環状に形成した前記弾性体(50)を装着した、
ことを特徴とするクランプ装置。 - 請求項12のクランプ装置において、
前記ガイド部材(16)の前記外周面と前記の複数のロック部材(24)の前記外周面とに、周方向の装着溝(48)(49)をそれぞれ形成し、上記装着溝(48)(49)に、薄肉で帯状に形成した前記の弾性体(50)を装着した、
ことを特徴とするクランプ装置。 - 請求項1から3のいずれかのクランプ装置において、
前記ハウジング(1)に、前記の被固定物(20)を受け止める着座面(58)を設け、その着座面(58)に、着座センサ用の加圧エアの噴出孔(59)を開口させ、
前記進出手段(26)が前記ガイド部材(16)を先端側へ進出させたときに上記着座面(58)よりも先端側の位置で上記の被固定物(20)を支持する搭載面(61)を、前記ガイド部材(16)に設けた、
