Abstract

 セラミックハニカム構造体(2)において、セル(3)の内面である隔壁(22)には、内燃機関から排出される煤を燃焼するために用いられる触媒材料(1)が担持されている。例えば、触媒材料は、炭素を燃焼するために用いられる材料であって、銀とアルミナを構成要素とする触媒においてダンベル状のO-Ag-Oの構造を有する。そのため、担持させるハニカム構造体を腐食させることなく、低温で煤の燃焼が可能な触媒材料を提供する。
