Abstract
【解決手段】外周壁21と、外周壁21の内側においてハニカム状に設けられた隔壁22と、隔壁22により仕切られていると共に少なくとも部分的に両端面23、24に貫通してなる複数のセル3とを有するセラミックハニカム構造体2において、セル3の内面である隔壁22には、内燃機関から排出される煤を燃焼するために用いられる触媒材料であって層状アルミナに銀を分散してなる触媒材料1が担持されている。

Description
本例は、触媒材料としてデラフォサイト型AgAlO2を作製し、その触媒特性を評価する例である。本例の触媒材料の製造方法は、上記第1の水熱合成法であり、母材合成、水熱合成、水洗、アンモニア洗浄、水洗、乾燥を行うことにより触媒材料を作製する。
上記実施例1においてアンモニア水による洗浄を省略した以外は同様にして、本例の触媒材料として試料B1を合成した。この試料B1のX線回折スペクトルは、図1に示されるように、上記試料A0と同様であり、酸化銀を含有するデラフォサイト型AgAlO2である。
硝酸銀水溶液に含まれる硝酸銀と等モルのチオ硫酸ナトリウムを溶解させ、超音波を1時間印加することで得られた黒色沈殿を、ろ過、水洗、乾燥して本例の試料Cを得た。XRDの結果、試料Cは、硫化銀であることを確認した。
本例は、上記実施例1で作製した触媒材料(試料A1)を担持させたセラミックスハニカム構造体を作製する例である。
本実施例3では、上記実施例1で作製したデラフォサイト型AgAlO2としての試料A1と同じくデラフォサイト型のCuAlO2との燃焼温度を比較した。この比較は、これら両試料について、上記図2と同様に、各触媒材料を炭素微粉と共に加熱したときの炭素微粉の重量変化と熱収支とを、示差熱熱重量同時測定装置により測定することによって行った。
本実施例4では、上記第1の水熱合成法によりデラフォサイト型AgAlO2を作製するにあたって、ロットや熱履歴の異なるものを作製した。ロット1として水熱処理温度を175℃としたもの、さらにこのロット1を800℃で熱処理したもの、ロット2として水熱処理温度を150℃としたものを、それぞれ作製し、各サンプルについてラマンスペクトルを測定した。
本実施例5では、上記第1の水熱合成法について、水熱処理温度を種々変えたものを作製し、各サンプルについて、上記同様の測定条件にてX線回折スペクトルを測定した。その結果を図16〜図20に示す。
本実施例6では、上記水熱合成法で製造したデラフォサイト型AgAlO2を、1000℃、4時間で熱処理することにより、熱分解した。
本実施例7では、複合硝酸塩を熱分解したものを作製した。具体的には、硝酸銀と硝酸アルミニウムを等モル水に溶かした物(AgAl(NO3)4)を850℃まで昇温することで熱分解した。
本例は、上記第3の水熱合成法により、触媒材料としてデラフォサイト型AgAlO2を作製した例である。
本例は、上記第4の水熱合成法により、触媒材料としてデラフォサイト型AgAlO2を作製した例である。
本例は、上記第5の水熱合成法により、触媒材料としてAgとAg−βアルミナとの積層構造よりなる触媒材料を作製した例である。
本例は、上記第6の水熱合成法により、触媒材料としてAgとAg−βアルミナとの積層構造よりなる触媒材料を作製した例である。上記実施例10において、θアルミナの代わりに、NaAlO2を8g使用したこと以外は、上記実施例10と同様にして触媒材料を製造した。
本例は、上記第7の水熱合成法により、触媒材料としてAgとAg−βアルミナとの積層構造よりなる触媒材料を作製した例である。上記実施例10において、酢酸の代わりに、酢酸ナトリウムを8g使用し、且つ酢酸を用いないこと以外は、上記実施例10と同様にして触媒材料を製造した。
また、層状銀アルミナ積層体において銀のアルミナに対する元素比は0.25以上であることが好ましいが、本実施例13では、この元素比に規定することについての根拠を述べる。当該根拠は、以下のような本発明者の行った実験結果に基づく。
なお、上記実施例2に示したセラミックハニカム構造体において、上記実施例3〜12の触媒材料を隔壁22に担持させてもよい。その担持方法は上記実施例2と同様である。また、触媒材料を隔壁22に担持するにあたっては、当該隔壁22の全体に担持してもよいし、部分的に担持してもよい。また、触媒材料を含むスラリーを用い、吸引などによりハニカム構造体に担持させるようにしてもよい。

Claims (12)
- 炭素を燃焼するために用いられる触媒材料であって、
銀とアルミナを構成要素とする触媒においてダンベル状のO−Ag−Oの構造を有することを特徴とする触媒材料。 - 炭素を燃焼するために用いられる触媒材料であって、
層状アルミナに銀を分散してなることを特徴とする触媒材料。 - 前記層状アルミナに銀を分散してなるとは、前記アルミナと前記銀とが層状構造をなすことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の触媒材料。
- 前記層状構造とは、当該触媒材料の結晶内にて構成されたものであることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の触媒材料。
- 当該触媒材料は金属銀あるいは銀イオンとアルミナとが交互に積層しており、その積層周期が10nm以下であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の触媒材料。
- 当該触媒材料のラマンスペクトルを測定したとき、少なくとも200〜400cm-1、600〜800cm-1、1000〜1200cm-1の3つのピークを有するものであることを特徴とする請求項1ないし5のいずれか1つに記載の触媒材料。
- 当該触媒材料はデラフォサイト型AgAlO2であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の触媒材料。
- Cu−Kαを用いたX線回折において少なくとも14.5°、29.2°、36.1°、37.2°、41.6°に回折ピークを有する3Rの対称性を有するX線回折スペクトルを有することを特徴とする請求項1ないし5のいずれか1つに記載の触媒材料。
- 前記アルミナがAg−ベータアルミナであることを特徴とする請求項1ないし6のいずれか1つに記載の触媒材料。
- セラミックスからなるハニカム構造体に担持させて内燃機関から排出される煤を燃焼するために用いられる触媒材料であって、
層状アルミナに銀を分散してなることを特徴とする触媒材料。 - 前記層状アルミナは、デラフォサイト型AgAlO2であることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の触媒材料。
- 銀のアルミニウムに対する元素比は0.25以上であることを特徴とする請求項1ないし11のいずれか1つに記載の触媒材料。
