Abstract

La presente invención es un polímero a base de etileno que comprende hacer reaccionar la resina de polietileno con un derivado de alcoxiamina que corresponde a la fórmula: (R1)(R2)N-O-R3 en donde R1 y R2 cada uno son independientemente uno del otro, hidrógeno, C4-C42 alquilo o C4-C42 arilo o grupos de hidrocarburo sustituidos que comprenden O y/o N, y en donde R1 y R2 pueden formar una estructura de anillo junta; y en donde R3 es hidrógeno, un hidrocarburo o un grupo de hidrocarburo sustituido que comprende O y/o N. Los grupos preferidos para R3 incluyen -C1-C19alquilo; -C6-C10arilo; -C2-C19alquenilo; -O-C1-C19alquilo; -O-C6-C10arilo; -NH-C1-C19alquilo; -NH-C6-C10arilo; -N-(C1-C19alquil)2. R3 contiene más preferentemente un grupo acilo. La resina resultante ha incrementado la resistencia al derretimiento con una mayor proporción de viscosidades de elongación en 0.1 a 100 rad/s, cuando se comparan con resinas de polietileno sustancialmente similares las cuales no han reaccionado con un derivado de alcoxiamina.
