Claims (9)
- 결정 배향각이 6°미만이고, 소각 X-선 산란 기울기(SAXS)가 약 1.8내지 -2.1이며, 섬유 인장강도가 적어도 약 500Kpsi임을 특징으로 하는, 인장강도와 모듈러스가 균형을 이루고 단면이 거의 둥글거나 원형인 피치-유도된 탄소섬유.
- 메조상 함량이 90중량% 이상이고 퀴놀린 불용물 함량이 1중량%미만이며, 섬유로 추출된 후, 초기에 적어도 1000℃의 상승되 온도로 가열되어 탄화되고, 이보다 낮은 온도로 냉각된 다음, 적어도 2400℃의 높은 온도로 가열되어 흑연화되는 용매 분별된 피치로 전구체로부터 유도된, 100Mpsi 이상의 초고 모듈러스와 500Kpsi이상의 높은 인장강도를 포함하는 초고 인장특성이 균형을 이루고 단면이 거의 둥글거나 원형인 탄소섬유 제품.
- 제 2 항에 있어서, 용매 분별화된 메조상 피치 전구체의 퀴놀린 불용물 함량이 0.3중량% 미만인 탄소 섬유제품.
- 제 2 항에 있어서, 용매 분별화된 피치 전구체가 가열침지된 피치 공급물을 유기 용융 액체로 처리하고, 생성된 유체 피치로부터 고체를 분리한 다음, 분리된 유체 피치를 25℃에서의 용해도 파라메터가 약 8.0내지 9.5인 유기 용매계로 처리함으로써 수득되는 탄소섬유제품.
- (a) 피치 공급재료를 가열침지시켜 메조상 함량을 증가시키고, (b) 가열 침지된 피치를 용해도 파라메터가 8 내지 9.5인 용매계로 용매 분별화하고, (c) 용매 분별화된 피치로부터 메조상 함량이 90중량%이상이고 퀴놀린 불용물 함량이 약 1중량% 미만인 불용성 재료를 회수하고, (d) 불용성 재료를 단면구조가 거의 둥글거나 원형인 다수의 미가공 섬유를 제조하는데 적합한 노즐이 부착된 방사구금을 통하여 압출하고, (e) 미가공 섬유를 상승된 온도에서 산화성 가스속에서 가열하여 안정화시키고, (f) 안정화된 미가공 섬유를 적어도 1000℃의 온도에서 열처리하여 탄화시키고, (g) 탄화된 섬유를 탄화온도 이하의 온도로 냉각시키고, (h) 냉각된 탄화섬유를 적어도 2400℃의 온도에서 열처리하여 흑연화한 다음, (i) 초고 모듈러스와 인장강도 특성이 균형을 이룬 탄소섬유 제품을 회수하는 단계를 포함하여, 약 100Mpsi이상의 초고 모듈러스와 약 500Mpsi이상의 높은 인장강도를 포함하는 인장특성이 균형을 이루고 단면이 거의 원형인 탄소섬유 제품을 제조하는 방법.
- 제 5 항에 있어서, 용매 분별화 단계(d)가 가열 침지된 피치 공급재료를 유기 용융 액체로 처리하고, 생성된 유체 피치로부터 고체를 분리한 다음, 분리된 유체 피치를 25℃에서의 용해도 파라메터가 약 8.0내지 9.5인 유기 용매계로 처리함으로써 수행되는 방법.
- 제 5 항에 있어서, 단계(g)에서 탄화 섬유를 주위 온도로 냉각시키는 방법.
- 제 5 항에 있어서, 탄화 섬유를 단계(f)이후와 단계(h)이전에 스폴에 권취한 다음, 해석하는 방법.
