Claims (9)
- 복수의 주사선 및 복수의 신호선이 격자형상으로 배치되고, 당해 주사선의 어느 하나를 일시에 선택하고, 신호선을 통해 액정의 상태를 변화시켜 화상데이터에 따른 화상표시를 행하는 액정표시장치의 구동방법으로서,상기 주사선의 어느 하나를 주사하는데 필요한 시간보다 짧은 시간내로 설정된 제 1 주사기간과 제 2 주사기간을 설정하고,상기 제 1 주사기간에서 상기 신호선을 통해 상기 화상데이터에 따른 화상을 표시하고,상기 제 2 주사기간에서 상기 신호선을 통해 단색의 화상을 표시하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 동일한 주사선에 관하여 상기 제 1 주사기간과 상기 제 2 주사기간은 시간적으로 이간하여 설정되고,어느 주사선의 상기 제 1 주사기간에서 상기 화상데이터에 따른 화상을 표시하고,상기 화상을 표시한 주사선에 대하여 소정수의 주사선만큼 이간한 주사선의 상기 제 2 주사기간에서 상기 단색의 화상을 표시하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 단색의 화상은 소정수의 연속된 주사선에 표시되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 신호선에는 번갈아 상기 화상데이터에 따른 화상 및 단색의 화상에 관한 신호가 출력되고,상기 화상데이터에 따른 화상에 관한 신호를 상기 제 1 주사기간마다 극성반전하여 출력하고,상기 단색의 화상에 관한 신호를 상기 제 2 주사기간마다 극성반전하여 출력하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 단색의 화상은 「흑」색의 화상인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 5 항에 있어서, 상기 액정은, 상기 전압이 무인가일 때에는 「백」표시상태이고, 인가전압에 따라 점점 「흑」표시상태가 되도록 구성됨과 동시에, 화소전극과 공통전극 사이에 배치되고,상기 제 2 주사기간에서 「흑」색의 화상을 표시할 때, 상기 화소전극과 상기 공통전극 사이에 인가하는 전압치를, 상기 제 1 주사기간에서 「흑」표시를 행할 때, 상기 화소전극과 상기 공통전극 사이에 인가하는 전압치보다도 크게 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 6 항에 있어서, 상기 화소전극과 상기 공통전극 사이에 인가하는 전압치는, 상기 공통전극에 인가하는 전압을 일정하게 하고, 상기 신호선을 통해 상기 화소전극에 인가하는 전압치를 크게 함으로써 가변하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 6 항에 있어서, 상기 화소전극과 상기 공통전극 사이에 인가하는 전압치는, 상기 신호선을 통해 상기 화소전극에 전압치를 인가함과 동시에, 상기 공통전극에 인가하는 전압을 변화시킴으로써 가변하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
- 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 주사선은 복수의 주사선 구동회로에 접속되고,상기 복수의 주사선 구동회로내의 선택된 2 개의 주사선 구동회로에 주사선을 순서대로 주사시키고,상기 제 1 주사기간에서는 상기 선택된 2 개의 주사선 구동회로의 일측의 주사를 정지시키고,상기 제 2 주사기간에서는 상기 선택된 2 개의 주사선 구동회로의 타측의 주사를 정지시키는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
