Description
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様に係る蓄電装置用電極材料について、図1を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態においては、実施の形態1で説明した蓄電装置用電極材料の製造方法の一例として、ゾルゲル法を用いて活物質の表面にコーティング膜を形成する製造方法について、図2を用いて説明する。
本実施の形態では、コーティング膜を有する粒状の活物質を用いた蓄電装置用電極及びその製造方法について、図3及び図4を用いて説明する。
図3は、蓄電装置用電極材料に粒状の負極活物質を含んだ蓄電装置用電極(負極)を説明する図である。図3(A)に示すように、負極200は、負極集電体201と、負極集電体201の両面又は片面(図では両面の場合を示す。)に設けられた負極活物質層202と、を有する。
図4は、蓄電装置用電極材料に粒状の正極活物質を含んだ蓄電装置用電極(正極)を説明する図である。図4(A)は正極250の断面図である。正極250は、正極集電体251の両面(又は図示しないが、一方の面)に正極活物質層252が形成される。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態3で示した蓄電装置用電極を用いた種々の蓄電装置について、図5及び図6を参照して説明する。
図5(A)は、コイン型(単層偏平型)のリチウムイオン二次電池の外観図であり、部分的にその断面構造を併せて示した図である。
次に、ラミネート型の二次電池の一例について、図5(B)を参照して説明する。図5(B)では、説明の便宜上、部分的にその内部構造を露出して記載している。
次に、円筒型の二次電池の一例について、図6を参照して説明する。円筒型の二次電池480は図6(A)に示すように、上面に正極キャップ(電池蓋)481を有し、側面及び底面に電池缶(外装缶)482を有している。これら正極キャップ481と電池缶(外装缶)482とは、ガスケット(絶縁パッキン)490によって絶縁されている。
本実施の形態では、蓄電装置としてリチウムイオンキャパシタについて説明する。
本発明の一態様に係る蓄電装置は、電力により駆動する様々な電子機器の電源として用いることができる。
次に、携帯型電子機器の一例として携帯情報端末について、図8を用いて説明する。
さらに、電子機器の一例である移動体の例について、図9を用いて説明する。
まず、本発明の一態様に係る蓄電装置用電極材料に用いるコーティング膜について、その電気抵抗率を測定した。測定は、蓄電装置用電極材料のコーティング膜材料として用いることのできる酸化ニオブ、酸化珪素、酸化アルミニウムの三種について行った。電気抵抗率の測定について、図10(A)を用いて説明する。
次に、活物質の表面に形成したコーティング膜の膜厚と、充放電により形成される表面皮膜の膜厚との相関関係を調べる測定を行った。当該測定について、図10及び図11を用いて説明する。
以上のようにして得たコーティング膜の膜厚と表面皮膜の膜厚との相関関係に、先述した各コーティング膜の電気抵抗率の測定結果を加味し、電気抵抗率(Ωm)と膜厚(m)との積という単位を横軸として図11をプロットし直した結果を、図12に示す。

Claims (6)
- 蓄電装置用電極材料であって、
粒状の活物質と、
前記活物質の表面の一部を覆うコーティング膜と、を有し、
前記コーティング膜は、前記蓄電装置に用いるキャリアイオンを通過させることができ、
前記コーティング膜の膜厚は、前記コーティング膜の膜厚と25℃における前記コーティング膜の電気抵抗率との積が、20Ωm・m以上となるような厚さを有し、
前記コーティング膜は、酸化ニオブまたは酸化珪素でなることを特徴とする蓄電装置用電極材料。 - 蓄電装置用電極材料であって、
粒状の活物質と、
前記活物質の表面の一部を覆うコーティング膜と、を有し、
前記コーティング膜は、前記蓄電装置に用いるキャリアイオンを通過させることができ、
前記コーティング膜の膜厚は、前記コーティング膜の膜厚と25℃における前記コーティング膜の電気抵抗率との積が、200Ωm・m以上となるような厚さを有し、
前記コーティング膜は、酸化ニオブまたは酸化珪素でなることを特徴とする蓄電装置用電極材料。 - 蓄電装置用電極であって、
集電体と、
前記集電体上に、少なくとも結着剤と複数の粒状の活物質とを含む活物質層と、を有し、
前記活物質の表面の一部はコーティング膜に覆われ、
前記コーティング膜は、前記蓄電装置に用いるキャリアイオンを通過させることができ、
前記コーティング膜の膜厚は、前記コーティング膜の膜厚と25℃における前記コーティング膜の電気抵抗率との積が、20Ωm・m以上となるような厚さを有し、
前記コーティング膜は、酸化ニオブまたは酸化珪素でなることを特徴とする蓄電装置用電極。 - 蓄電装置用電極であって、
集電体と、
前記集電体上に、少なくとも結着剤と複数の粒状の活物質とを含む活物質層と、を有し、
前記活物質の表面の一部はコーティング膜に覆われ、
前記コーティング膜は、前記蓄電装置に用いるキャリアイオンを通過させることができ、
前記コーティング膜の膜厚は、前記コーティング膜の膜厚と25℃における前記コーティング膜の電気抵抗率との積が、200Ωm・m以上となるような厚さを有し、
前記コーティング膜は、酸化ニオブまたは酸化珪素でなることを特徴とする蓄電装置用電極。 - 請求項3又は4に記載の蓄電装置用電極を有する蓄電装置。
- 請求項5に記載の蓄電装置を搭載した電子機器。
