Description
Claims (13)
- 細長い物体と、
金属を含み、前記細長い物体の表面の上を覆う結合層と、
ポリマー材料を含み、前記結合層の上を覆うコーティング層と、
前記結合層及び前記コーティング層内に含有された研磨砥粒とを含み、
前記結合層が、前記研磨砥粒の平均グリットサイズの少なくとも約40%の平均厚(tbl)を有し、
前記研磨砥粒が、前記研磨砥粒の平均グリッドサイズの少なくとも約40%の平均押し込み深さ(di)のところで前記結合層内に埋め込まれ、
前記コーティング層の平均厚(t c )及び前記結合層の前記平均厚(t bl )が、少なくとも約1:2の層比(t c :t bl )を有する研磨物品。 - 前記細長い物体が、少なくとも約1kmの長さ方向軸線に沿って延びる長さと、少なくとも約10ミクロンの平均直径によって規定される円形横断面形状とを有する請求項1に記載の研磨物品。
- 前記結合層が金属を含む請求項1に記載の研磨物品。
- 前記結合層が銅ベースの金属合金を含む請求項3に記載の研磨物品。
- 前記結合層が、前記研磨砥粒の平均グリットサイズの約50%〜約100%の範囲内の前記平均厚(tbl)を有する請求項1に記載の研磨物品。
- 前記結合層が、約10ミクロン〜約30ミクロンの範囲内の前記平均厚さ(tbl)を含む請求項1に記載の研磨物品。
- 前記結合層が、カーバイド、カーボンベース、ホウ化物、窒化物、酸化物、超研磨砥粒、及びこれらの組み合わせによって構成される材料の群から選定される粒子を含むフィラーを含む請求項1に記載の研磨物品。
- 前記コーティング層が、熱硬化性樹脂及び熱可塑性樹脂のうち一方を含む請求項1に記載の研磨物品。
- 前記コーティング層が、前記研磨砥粒の平均グリットサイズの約5%〜約50%の範囲内の前記平均厚(tc)を有する請求項1に記載の研磨物品。
- 細長い物体と、
金属を含み、前記細長い物体の表面の上を覆う結合層と、
ポリマー材料を含み、前記結合層の上に位置し、前記結合層(tbl)の平均厚未満の平均厚(tc)を有するコーティング層と、
前記結合層及びコーティング層内に含有された研磨砥粒とを含み、
前記研磨砥粒が、前記研磨砥粒の平均グリットサイズの少なくとも約40%の平均押し込み深さ(di)のところで前記結合層内に埋め込まれ、
前記コーティング層の前記平均厚(t c )及び前記結合層の前記平均厚(t bl )が、少なくとも約1:2の層比(t c :t bl )を有する研磨物品。 - 前記平均押し込み深さ(di)が、前記研磨砥粒の平均グリットサイズの約50%〜約80%の範囲内にある請求項10に記載の研磨物品。
- 細長い物体と、
金属を含み、前記細長い物体の表面の上を覆う結合層と、
ポリマー材料を含み、前記結合層の上を覆うコーティング層と、
前記結合層内に含有された研磨砥粒とを含み、
前記コーティングの一部が、前記研磨砥粒の一部を選択的に取り囲む湿潤領域と、前記研磨砥粒の一部の間の非湿潤領域とを包含し、前記湿潤領域が、前記非湿潤領域における前記コーティング層の平均厚を超える前記コーティング層の平均厚を有し、
前記研磨砥粒が、前記研磨砥粒の平均グリッドサイズの少なくとも約40%の平均押し込み深さ(di)のところで前記結合層内に埋め込まれている、研磨物品。 - 金属を含む結合層を細長い物体の表面上に形成することと、
研磨砥粒を前記結合層内に埋め込むことと、
前記結合層内に前記研磨砥粒を埋め込んだ後、ポリマーを含み、前記結合層の上を覆うコーティング層を形成することと、
を含み、
前記研磨砥粒が、前記研磨砥粒の平均グリッドサイズの少なくとも約40%の平均押し込み深さ(di)のところで前記結合層内に埋め込まれ、
前記コーティング層の平均厚(t c )及び前記結合層の平均厚(t bl )が、少なくとも約1:2の層比(t c :t bl )を有する研磨物品を形成する方法。
