飽和度が1に近づくほど、融点は低くなる。鋳鉄では、飽和度1.0が通常望ましく、その場合鋳鉄は1150℃の融点を有する。鋼の飽和度は、化学組成に依存するが、約0.18である。共晶鋼は1500℃の融点を有する。

d. ピストンリングを適切な焼入れ媒体中で焼き入れするステップと、
e. ピストンリングを制御雰囲気炉内において400℃〜700℃の範囲の温度で焼き戻しするステップ。

Claims (5)
- 良好な窒化特性を有する鋼組成物を本体として含むピストンリングであって、該鋼組成物が該鋼組成物100重量%に対して表示された割合の以下の元素を含み、
C: 0.5〜1.2重量%
Cr: 4.0〜18.0重量%
Fe: 残部
Mn: 0.1〜3.0重量%
Mo: 0.1〜3.0重量%
Ni: 3.15〜12.0重量%
Si: 3.0〜10.0重量%
V: 0.05〜2.0重量%
B: 最大 0.5重量%
Cu: 最大 2.0重量%
Nb: 最大 0.05重量%
P: 最大 0.01重量%
Pb: 最大 0.05重量%
S: 最大 0.05重量%
Sn: 最大 0.05重量%
Ti: 最大 0.2重量%
W: 最大 0.5重量%
該鋼組成物がB、C、Cr、Cu、Fe、Mn、Mo、Nb、Ni、P、Pb、S、Si、Sn、Ti、VおよびWからなる群から選択される元素のみを含み、該元素の合計が100重量%となり、
そして、該ピストンリングが、以下のステップを含む製法により製造されることを特徴とするピストンリング。
a. 溶融塊を出発材料から製造するステップと、
b. 溶融塊を調製型に流し込むステップ。 - 請求項1に記載のピストンリングを窒化することにより得られることを特徴とする窒化ピストンリング。
- 請求項1に記載のピストンリングを製造するに当たり、
a. 溶融塊を出発材料から製造するステップと、
b. 溶融塊を調製型に流し込むステップと
を備えることを特徴とする方法。 - c. ピストンリングをそのAc3温度以上でオーステナイト化するステップと、
d. ピストンリングを適切な焼入れ媒体中で焼き入れするステップと、
e. ピストンリングを制御雰囲気炉内において400℃〜700℃の範囲の温度で焼き戻しするステップと
をさらに備える請求項3に記載の方法。 - 請求項2に記載のピストンリングを製造するに当たり、
a. 請求項3もしくは4に記載の方法を実施するステップと、
b. 得られたピストンリングを窒化するステップと
を備えることを特徴とする方法。
