Claims (17)
- 電子デバイスのディスプレイ・デバイスを作動する方法において、
ディスプレイ制御パラメータのユーザ・セッティングを受け取るステップと
受け取ったユーザ・セッティングに基づいて、環境光センサ値(ALS)に加える重みの設定を変更することにより前記ディスプレイ制御パラメータを制御するステップと、
とを備え、
前記重みの変更は前記重みと前記ユーザセッティング間の関係により決定され、また、 前記ディスプレイデバイスの物理的な明るさレベルは前記環境光センサ値に前記重みを乗じた値に比例すると共に、また、前記ユーザセッティングから決定され、
前記重み付けは、ユーザが選択した明るさレベル領域の中央部分(950)に比して上端部分(960)と下端部分(940)とにおいては、前記環境光センサ値(ALS)の変化による明るさに対する効果を小さくする特性を有することを特徴とする
電子デバイスのディスプレイ・デバイスの作動方法。 - 前記ユーザ・セッティングとは、前記ユーザ・セッティングの設定を変更することであり、前記重みの変更とは前記ユーザ・セッティングの前記設定変更によって自動的に引き起こされるものであり、
また、前記ディスプレイ制御パラメータとは、ポータブル・デバイスのディスプレイのバックライトの物理的な明るさレベルに関わるパラメータである、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記ディスプレイ制御パラメータは、前記ユーザ・セッティングおよび前記光センサ値に比例する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ディスプレイ制御パラメータはディスプレイのバックライトの物理的な明るさのレベルである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ディスプレイ制御パラメータが液晶ディスプレイ用である場合に、前記環境光センサ値(ALS)は前記液晶ディスプレイに対してフィードバックセンサーとして機能し、前記液晶ディスプレイの明るさレベルが、ディスプレイのバックライトの物理的な明るさのレベルである場合には、前記重み付けにより、前記ユーザセッティングから同じコントラストを保つことができる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 実行されると、データ処理システムを作動させる方法を引き起こす実行可能プログラム命令を含む機械可読媒体であって、前記方法は、
ディスプレイ制御パラメータのユーザ・セッティングを受け取るステップと
受け取ったユーザ・セッティングに基づいて、環境光センサ値(ALS)に加える重みの設定を変更することにより前記ディスプレイ制御パラメータを制御するステップと、

前記重みの変更は前記重みと前記ユーザセッティング間の関係により決定され、また、 前記ディスプレイデバイスの物理的な明るさレベルは前記環境光センサ値に前記重みを乗じた値に比例すると共に、また、前記ユーザセッティングから決定される、ものであり
前記重み付けは、ユーザが選択した明るさレベル領域の中央部分(950)に比して上端部分(960)と下端部分(940)とにおいては、前記環境光センサ値(ALS)の変化による明るさに対する効果を小さくする特性を有する
ことを特徴とする機械可読媒体。 - 前記ユーザ・セッティングとは、前記ユーザ・セッティングの設定を変更することであり、前記重みの変更とは前記ユーザ・セッティングの前記設定変更によって自動的に引き起こされるものであり、
また、前記ディスプレイ制御パラメータとは、ポータブル・デバイスのディスプレイのバックライトの物理的な明るさレベルに関わるパラメータである、請求項6に記載の媒体。 - 前記ディスプレイ制御パラメータは、前記ユーザ・セッティングおよび前記光センサ値に比例する、請求項6に記載の媒体。
- ディスプレイ制御パラメータのユーザ・セッティングを受け取る手段と、
受け取った前記ユーザ・セッティングに基づいて環境光センサ値(ALS)に加える重みの設定を変更することにより、前記ディスプレイ制御パラメータを制御する手段と、を備え
前記重みの変更は前記重みと前記ユーザセッティング間の関係により決定され、また、 前記ディスプレイデバイスの物理的な明るさレベルは前記環境光センサ値に前記重みを乗じた値に比例すると共に、また、前記ユーザセッティングから決定される、ものであり
前記重み付けは、ユーザが選択した明るさレベル領域の中央部分(950)に比して上端部分(960)と下端部分(940)とにおいては、前記環境光センサ値(ALS)の変化による明るさに対する効果を小さくする特性を有する
を備えることを特徴とするデータ処理デバイス。 - 電子デバイスのディスプレイの作動方法であって、
ディスプレイ明るさレベルのユーザ選択の明るさレベルに対する変更を受け取るステップと、
前記変化に従って、前記ディスプレイ明るさレベルの制御に対する環境光センサ出力レベルの環境光センサ(ALS)出力重みの影響を変更するステップと、
を具備する作動方法であって、
前記重みの影響の変更は前記重みと前記ユーザセッティング間の関係により決定され、また、前記ディスプレイデバイスの物理的な明るさレベルは前記環境光センサ値に前記重みを乗じた値に比例すると共に、また、前記ユーザセッティングから決定される、ものであり
前記重み付けは、ユーザが選択した明るさレベル領域の中央部分(950)に比して上端部分(960)と下端部分(940)とにおいては、前記環境光センサ値(ALS)の変化による明るさに対する効果を小さくする特性を有する
ことを特徴とする、ディスプレイの作動方法。 - 前記ユーザによる変更と重みの変更に基づいて前記明るさレベルを自動的に変更するステップと、前記環境光センサ出力レベルの変化に基づいて前記明るさレベルを変更するステップとをさらに含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記明るさレベルが、ポータブル・デバイスのディスプレイに関し、
前記ディスプレイのデバイス・セッティングの変化に基づいて前記明るさレベルを変更するステップ
をさらに含む、請求項11に記載の方法。 - 前記ユーザの選択した明るさレベルの増加が、線形関係に従って前記環境光センサ出力重みを自動的に減らす、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記ユーザの選択した明るさレベルの変化が、「釣り鐘」形曲線関係に従って前記環境光センサ出力重みを自動的に変更する、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 前記環境光センサ出力重みの範囲が、前記ユーザの選択した明るさレベルの範囲の下端でより低く、中央部分でより高く、上端でより低い、前記ユーザの選択した明るさベルの範囲に関するガウス形状曲線関係を有する、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 電子デバイスのディスプレイを動作させる作動方法であって、
ユーザ・インターフェース特徴レベルを制御するユーザ入力を受け取るステップと、
入力された前記ユーザ・インターフェース特徴レベルがそれに基づく光センサ(ALS)出力値の重みをセットするステップと、
前記重みのセッティングは前記重みと前記ユーザ・インターフェース特徴レベル間の関係により決定され、また、前記ディスプレイデバイスの物理的な明るさレベルは前記環境光センサ値に前記重みを乗じた値に比例すると共に、また、前記ユーザセッティングから決定される、ものであり
前記重み付けは、ユーザが選択した明るさレベル領域の中央部分(950)に比して上端部分(960)と下端部分(940)とにおいては、前記環境光センサ値(ALS)の変化による明るさに対する効果を小さくする特性を有する
ことを特徴とする、電子デバイスのディスプレイの作動方法。 - 前記ユーザ入力が、ユーザ・セッティングに対する変化であり、前記変化が、前記重みを自動的に変化させ、
前記ユーザ・インターフェース特徴レベルが、ポータブル・デバイスのディスプレイの物理的な明るさレベルである、請求項16に記載の方法。
