Description
本発明は、燃費を向上させ燃費と摩耗および摩擦低下とを保持する低イオウ、低灰分、低リン潤滑剤組成物および内燃機関を潤滑させる方法に関する。
本発明は、内燃機関を潤滑させるのに適切な内燃機関で使用するのに適切な低イオウ、低リン、低灰分潤滑剤組成物を提供し、該組成物は、以下を含有する:
(a)潤滑粘性のあるオイル、および
(b)式Iで表わされる物質と約8個〜約30個の炭素原子を有するアルコールまたはアミンとの縮合生成物およびそれらの組み合わせ;
ここで、該潤滑剤組成物は、約1.0までの硫酸灰分値、約0.08重量パーセントまでのリン含量および約0.4重量パーセントまでのイオウ含量を有する。
種々の好ましい特徴および実施形態は、非限定的な例によって、以下で記述する。
この低イオウ、低リン、低灰分潤滑油組成物は、1種またはそれ以上の基油から構成され、これらは、一般に、主要量(すなわち、約50重量パーセントより多い量)で存在している。一般に、この基油は、この潤滑油組成物の約60重量パーセントより多い量、または約70重量パーセントより多い量、または約80重量パーセントより多い量で、存在している。この基油のイオウ含量は、代表的には、0.2重量パーセント未満である。
本発明の酒石酸イミド、酒石酸アミドまたはそれらの組み合わせは、酒石酸と、1種またはそれ以上のアミン(これらは、例えば、式RR’NHを有し、ここで、RおよびR’は、それぞれ別個に、H、1個〜150個の炭素原子の炭化水素ベースの基を表わすが、但し、RおよびR’中の炭素原子の合計は、少なくとも8個であるか、または−R’’OR’’’を有し、ここで、R’’は、2個〜6個の炭素原子の二価アルキレンラジカルであり、そしてR’’’は、5個〜150個の炭素原子のヒドロカルビルラジカルである)との反応により、調製できる。

Claims (18)
- 以下を含有する、内燃機関で使用するのに適切な低イオウ、低リン、低灰分潤滑剤組成物:
(a)潤滑粘性のあるオイル、および
(b)式Iで表わされる物質と8個〜30個の炭素原子を有するアミンとの縮合生成物、または式Iで表わされる物質とアルコールおよびアミンの組み合わせとの縮合生成物であって、該アルコールおよびアミンが8個〜30個の炭素原子を有する縮合生成物;
ここで、該潤滑剤組成物は、1.0までの硫酸灰分値、0.08重量パーセントまでのリン含量および0.4重量パーセントまでのイオウ含量を有する、
組成物。 - 前記縮合生成物の量が、0.05〜5.0重量パーセントである、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記縮合生成物の量が、0.1〜2.0重量パーセントである、請求項2に記載の組成物。
- 前記縮合生成物の量が、0.25〜1.25重量パーセントである、請求項2に記載の組成物。
- ジアルキルジチオリン酸金属をさらに含有する、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記ジアルキルジチオリン酸金属が、ジアルキルジチオリン酸亜鉛であり、ここで、それらのアルキル基の少なくとも50パーセントが、第二級アルキル基である、請求項5に記載の組成物。
- 分散剤をさらに含有する、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記分散剤が、スクシンイミドである、請求項7に記載の組成物。
- 少なくとも1種のカルシウムオーバーベース化清浄剤をさらに含有する、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記カルシウムオーバーベース化清浄剤が、スルホン酸カルシウム、カルシウムフェネート、サリチル酸カルシウム、カルシウムサリキサレートおよびそれらの混合物からなる群より選択される、請求項9に記載の組成物。
- 少なくとも1種の酸化防止剤をさらに含有する、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記酸化防止剤が、ヒンダードフェノール、アリールアミンおよびそれらの混合物からなる群より選択される、請求項11に記載の組成物。
- (b)以外の追加摩擦調整剤をさらに含有する、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記追加摩擦調整剤が、グリセロールモノオレエート、オレイルアミド、ジエタノール脂肪アミンおよびそれらの混合物からなる群より選択される、請求項13に記載の組成物。
- 消泡剤をさらに含有する、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 内燃機関を潤滑させる方法であって、該方法は、該内燃機関に、潤滑粘性のあるオイルと、縮合生成物とを供給する工程を包含し、該縮合生成物が、式Iで表わされる物質と8個〜30個の炭素原子を有するアミンとの縮合生成物であるか、または式Iで表わされる物質とアルコールおよびアミンの組み合わせとの縮合生成物であって、該アルコールおよびアミンが8個〜30個の炭素原子を有する縮合生成物である;
ここで、該潤滑剤組成物は、1.0までの硫酸灰分値、0.08重量パーセントまでのリン含量および0.4重量パーセントまでのイオウ含量を有する、
