【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、コイン（メダルやトー
クンでも可）を投入したり、あるいはクレジットカード
に記録された手持ち価値の中から任意の投資価値を入力
してからゲームを行うスロットマシンに関するものであ
る。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】一般にスロットマシンゲームは、まずス
ロットマシンのコイン投入口に１〜３枚程度のコインを
投入した後、スタートレバーを操作することによって開
始される。スタートレバーの操作により、シンボルが配
列された複数本のリールが一斉に回転し、そしてこれら
のリールはストップボタンの操作、あるいはランダムな
タイミングで停止する。全てのリールが停止したとき、
所定の入賞ライン上で停止している各リールのシンボル
の組み合わせによって入賞の有無が表示され、入賞時に
は大入賞，中入賞，小入賞等の入賞の種類に応じた枚数
の配当コインが払い出される。また、上記のようにコイ
ンを用いる代わりに、ＩＣメモリやＬＳＩメモリにデー
タ記録を行ったり、あるいは磁気によりデータ記録を行
うゲーム用のクレジットカードを利用し、クレジットカ
ードに記録されている手持ち価値の中から１ゲーム当り
の投資価値をスロットマシンに入力し、ゲームで入賞が
得られたときにはその配当価値をクレジットカードの手
持ち価値に加算記録するようにしたスロットマシンも提
案されている。このように、スロットマシンでは遊技者
はまず投資価値を決め、それをスロットマシンに入力し
てからゲームを実行し、入賞が得られたときには配当価
値を受けることかでき、またハズレのときには投資価値
を失うようになっている。
【０００３】ところで、リールの停止制御がストップボ
タンの操作で行われるものであれ、あるいはランダムな
タイミングで各リールを自動的に停止制御するものであ
れ、スロットマシンではゲームを数多く繰り返してゆく
ことによって、それまでの入賞によって得られた配当価
値の積算値と、各ゲームの開始に先立ってスロットマシ
ンに入力された投資価値との比（ペイアウト率）は、ほ
ぼ一定の値に近づく。したがって１回の入賞だけで多く
の配当価値が得られたり、または極めて入賞が得やすく
なる特典ゲーム（ボーナスゲーム）の実行が可能となる
ような大入賞の発生確率は、前記ペイアウト率を考慮し
て、例えば１００ゲーム程度で１回発生するように設定
されるのが普通である。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかしながら、上記の
ような大入賞の発生頻度は確率的に決められているもの
であるから、実際に１００回のゲームを行った際に大入
賞が２回発生することもあれば、２００回，３００回の
ゲームを行っても１回も大入賞が発生しないこともあり
得る。そして、何回もゲームを行っても大入賞が得られ
ないような場合には、投資価値の損失だけが嵩み、遊技
者はゲームに嫌気がさして興趣を失うことにもなり兼ね
ない。
【０００５】本発明はこのような問題を解決するために
なされたもので、投資価値が増えていっても、遊技者が
ゲームに対する興趣を失うことがないようにしたスロッ
トマシンを提供することを目的とする。
【０００６】
【課題を解決するための手段】本発明は上記目的を達成
するにあたり、ゲーム開始時にスロットマシンに入力さ
れる投資価値とは別に入力された保険投資価値が、予め
決められた価値に達した際には保険信号を発生させ、こ
の保険信号発生期間中に前記投資価値の積算値が所定の
値に達した時点で、規定の価値をもった保険配当の支払
いを行い、これとともに前記保険信号を断つように構成
されている。また、保険信号の発生期間中のゲームで大
入賞が出現した場合には、その時点で保険信号を断つよ
うに構成してもよい。さらに前記保険信号を検知して作
動し、保険期間が開始されたことを表示する第１表示器
と、保険期間中のゲームごとに消費される投資価値を表
示する第２表示器とを設けることによって、遊技者には
新たな興趣を与えることができる。さらにまた、前記保
険配当の支払い時期を、保険期間中の繰り返しゲーム回
数で決めるようにしてもよい。
【０００７】
【実施例】本発明を適用したスロットマシンの外観を示
す図１において、スロットマシン２の前面パネルにはリ
ール表示窓が設けられ、これを通して本体内の第１〜第
３リール４〜６のシンボルを観察することができる。さ
らに前面パネルには２つのコイン投入口７，８が設けら
れ、遊技者は手元にあるコインを適宜これらのコイン投
入口７，８に投入することができる。一方のコイン投入
口７は、ゲームの開始に先立って１〜３枚の範囲で投入
されるゲームスタート用コインの投入に用いられ、その
投入枚数によって１ゲーム当りの投資価値が決り、これ
と同時に入賞判定時に有効化される入賞ラインの本数が
決められる。また、ここから投入されたゲームスタート
用コインは、コイン選別器やコイン検出器からなる検出
部９を経てホッパー１０に送り込まれる。
【０００８】他方のコイン投入口８は、予め設定された
例えば３枚の保険用のコインを投入するときに用いら
れ、保険機能を利用しないときには、ここにコインの投
入を行わなくても、前述したゲームスタート用コインの
投入だけでゲームを開始することができる。この３枚の
保険コインの投入は、ゲームスタート用コインの投入が
可能な時点で行われる。３枚の保険コインが投入される
と、それ以後のゲームで消費されるゲームスタート用コ
インの積算枚数が５００枚に達した時点で２００枚の保
険配当コインの払い出しを受けることができるようにな
る。なお、このコイン投入口８から投入された保険コイ
ンも、コイン選別器やコイン検出器からなる検出部１１
を経てホッパー１０に送られる。
【０００９】３枚の保険コインが投入され、保険期間が
開始されたことを表示するために表示ランプ１４が設け
られ、また保険期間中のゲームごとに投入されたゲーム
スタート用コインの積算枚数を表示するために表示ＬＥ
Ｄ１５が設けられている。遊技者は３枚の保険コインの
投入により、ゲームスタート用コインの消費枚数が５０
０枚に達した時点で２００枚の保険配当コインの払い出
しを受けることを予め認識しているから、表示ＬＥＤ１
５の表示を観察することによって、ゲームで入賞を得る
ことの他に、保険配当コインの払い出しに対しても期待
を抱くことができる。
【００１０】ゲームスタート用コインを投入した後、ス
タートレバー１６を操作することによってリール４〜６
が一斉に回転する。そしてこれらのリールは、各々ラン
ダムなタイミングで自動的に停止する。全てのリールが
停止したとき、有効化された入賞ライン上のシンボルを
リールごとに組み合わせて入賞の有無を知ることができ
る。なお、周知のようにリール４〜６はステッピングモ
ータによって駆動され、その停止位置も電気的に制御さ
れるようになっている。すなわち、スタートレバー１６
の操作によって乱数値のサンプリングが行われ、この乱
数値に応じて入賞の種類が決められた後、その入賞が満
足されるようにリール４〜６の停止制御が行われる。ま
た、入賞が得られたときの配当コイン、あるいは保険配
当コインは、ホッパー１０の作動によって排出口１８か
ら受皿に払い出される。
【００１１】上記スロットマシン２の機能ブロックを示
す図２において、ゲームスタート用コイン検出器２０は
コイン投入口７からのゲームスタート用コインを１枚ず
つ検出する。この検出信号はゲームスタート用コインカ
ウンタ２１で計数され、その計数値に応じて入賞判定時
に参照される入賞ラインの本数が決まる。ゲーム始動制
御部２２は、ゲームスタート用コイン検出器２０からの
検出信号を受けた後、スタートレバー１６が操作された
ときにスタート信号を出力する。このスタート信号は、
リール制御部２４，乱数サンプリング部２５に入力され
る。リール制御部２４は、スタート信号を受けてリール
ごとに設けられたステッピングモータを一斉に駆動し、
これにより第１〜第３リール４〜６が一斉に回転を開始
する。また乱数サンプリング部２５は、前記スタート信
号の入力により所定範囲内の乱数列中から１個の乱数を
サンプリングし、その値を入賞判定部２６に入力する。
【００１２】入賞判定部２６は、乱数サンプリング部２
５から入力された乱数値に基づき、実行されたゲームに
ついての入賞の種類（ハズレも含む）を判定する。この
ため入賞確率テーブル２７には、乱数サンプリング部２
５でサンプリング可能な全ての乱数をその値ごとに大入
賞，中入賞，小入賞，ハズレにグループ分けしたデータ
が格納されている。そして、入賞判定部２６はこの入賞
確率テーブル２７を参照し、乱数サンプリング部２５で
サンプリングされた乱数の値がどの入賞グループに属し
ているのかを判定する。こうして決められた入賞の種類
を表すデータはリール制御部２４に入力され、リール制
御部２４はその入賞の種類が満たされるようなシンボル
の組み合わせが入賞ライン上に現れるようにリール４〜
６を停止制御する。入賞の種類を表すデータはホッパー
制御部２８にも入力される。そして、ハズレ以外のとき
には、入賞の種類ごとに配当コインの枚数を対応づけた
入賞配当テーブル２９が参照され、規定枚数の配当コイ
ンを払い出すようにホッパー１０の駆動が制御される。
【００１３】保険コイン検出器３０は、コイン投入口８
から投入された保険コインを１枚ずつ検出し、この検出
信号は保険コインカウンタ３１で計数される。保険信号
発生部３２は、保険コインカウンタ３１の計数値が
「３」に達すると保険信号を発生する。これにより保険
期間が開始され、表示ランプ１４が点灯して遊技者にそ
の表示が行われる。なお、保険信号が発生された後に余
分に投入された保険コインは、排出口１８から受皿に払
い戻される。
【００１４】ゲームスタート用コインカウンタ２１の計
数値は、ゲームが１回終わるごとに「０」にクリアされ
るが、保険信号が発生されている場合にはスタートレバ
ー１６を操作した時点でその計数値は積算カウンタ３３
に送られる。したがって、この積算カウンタ３３は保険
期間中におけるゲームスタート用コインの積算投入枚数
を計数することになり、その積算値は表示ＬＥＤ１５に
よってデジタル表示される。保険配当信号発生部３５
は、保険信号発生部３２から保険信号が入力され、しか
も積算カウンタ３３の積算値が「５００」に達した時点
で保険配当信号を発生する。この保険配当信号はホッパ
ー制御部２８に供給される。これにより、ホッパー制御
部２８が作動し、保険配当コイン枚数記憶部３６に予め
書き込んでおいた枚数（２００枚）の保険配当コインが
ホッパー１０によって払い出されるようになる。
【００１５】保険配当信号はリセット信号発生部３７に
も入力される。リセット信号発生部３７は、保険配当信
号を受けて保険信号発生部３２及び積算カウンタ３３に
リセット信号を送り、これにより保険信号が断たれると
ともに積算カウンタ３３の積算値は「０」にクリアされ
る。さらに、リセット信号発生部３７には入賞判定部２
６からの大入賞発生信号も入力されるようになってお
り、ゲームで大入賞が発生した際にはリセット信号発生
部３７は同じようにリセット信号を発生する。
【００１６】図３は上記スロットマシン２の基本的な処
理の流れを表すフローチャートである。保険機能を利用
してゲームを行うには、まず３枚の保険コインをコイン
投入口８から投入する。保険コインの投入が３枚に達し
たことが保険コインカウンタ３１によって検知される
と、保険信号発生部３２が作動して保険信号が発生され
る。遊技者は表示ランプ１４の点灯により保険機能が作
動したことを確認した上で、保険期間中の最初のゲーム
のために１〜３枚のゲームスタート用コインをコイン投
入口７から投入する。スタートレバー１６を操作するこ
とにより通常のスロットマシンゲームが開始され、また
ゲームスタート用コインの投入枚数はゲームスタート用
コインカウンタ２１を介して積算カウンタ３３に送られ
る。
【００１７】保険期間中にゲームが順次繰り返され、そ
の都度ゲームスタート用コインは消費され、またゲーム
により中入賞，小入賞が得られた場合には、それぞれ入
賞の種類に対応した例えば１５枚，５枚の配当コインが
得られる。このような中入賞あるいは小入賞、さらには
ハズレの出現により順次にゲームが続けられ、スタート
用コインの消費枚数が５００枚に達すると、保険配当信
号発生部３５が作動して２００枚の保険配当コインが払
い出され保険期間が満了する。このような保険機能によ
り、多量の配当コインが得られる大入賞が得られないま
ま５００枚に達するゲームスタート用コインを消費した
ときには、２００枚の保険配当コインが得られるので、
遊技者の損失を補うことができる。
【００１８】一方、保険期間中のゲームにおいて大入賞
が出現すると、入賞判定部２６からの大入賞発生信号に
よって保険信号が断たれ、保険期間は満了する。そし
て、これによりすでに投入した３枚の保険コインは掛け
捨てになって無駄になるが、大入賞の発生により遊技者
は多量の配当コインを得ることができるから、保険配当
コインの払い出しが行われなくても充分満足することが
できる。もちろん、３枚の保険コインの投入を行わずに
大入賞が得られれば最も遊技者にとって有利であるが、
この掛け捨て式の保険機能を利用するか否かは遊技者が
任意に選択すればよい。なお、保険期間が満了する前に
保険コインが投入された場合には、上記実施例ではその
まま返却されることになるが、保険コインを新たに３枚
投入したときにはその時点から新規に保険期間が開始さ
れるようにしてもよい。
【００１９】以上、コインを用いるスロットマシンに本
発明を適用した例について説明してきたが、保険機能を
確保するための保険コインの投入枚数や、保険配当コイ
ンの払い出し枚数等については適宜に設計することがで
き、また保険コインの投入枚数に応じ、それぞれ保険配
当コインの払い出し枚数が異なる複数の保険機能が得ら
れるようにすることも可能である。そして、価値が異な
る何種類かのコインを併用することができるスロットマ
シンに本発明を適用するに際しては、投入されたコイン
の合計価値を投資価値として積算し、その積算値が所定
の値に達したときに規定の保険配当価値に対応したコイ
ンを支払うようにすればよい。さらに、保険期間中に中
入賞，小入賞が発生したときには、これらの入賞により
払い出された配当コインの枚数を積算カウンタ３３の積
算値から減算するようにしてもよい。さらにまた、コイ
ンを用いる代わりにクレジットカード等を利用し、任意
の賭け値（投資価値）を入力してからゲームを行った結
果、入賞が得られたときにはその入賞の種類、さらには
賭け値に応じた配当価値をクレジットカードに記録する
ようにしたスロットマシンについては、保険期間中に行
われるゲームごとの賭け値を積算してゆき、保険配当信
号が発生されたときに規定の保険配当価値をクレジット
カードに記録してやればよい。
【００２０】さらに、１ゲーム当りの投資価値が一定に
決められているスロットマシンに本発明を適用する場合
には、保険期間中の投資価値を積算してゆく代わりに、
保険期間中のゲーム数が一定回数に達した時点で保険配
当信号が出力されるようにすることもできる。この場合
には、ゲームスタート用コインカウンタ２１の計数値を
積算する積算カウンタ３３に変え、図４に示したよう
に、保険期間中にゲーム始動制御部２２から出力される
スタート信号を積算カウンタ４０で積算し、その積算値
を保険配当信号発生部３５，ゲーム数表示用の表示ＬＥ
Ｄ４１に入力する構成にすればよい。その他、本発明は
ＣＲＴにシンボルを映像表示するビデオタイプのスロッ
トマシンにも全く同様に用いることができる。

【発明の効果】上述してきたように、本発明のスロット
マシンによれば、予め決められた保険投資価値をゲーム
開始前に入力しておくことによって保険機能を利用する
ことができ、ゲームの実行ごとに消費される投資価値が
所定の積算値まで達すると規定の保険配当を得ることが
できるから、たとえ入賞による配当が少なかったとして
も遊技者の損失を低く抑えることができ、初心者でもあ
る程度は安心してゲームを行うことができる。また、多
くの入賞配当が得られる大入賞が保険期間中に発生した
際に保険機能を解除する構成をとることによって、遊技
者には保険機能を利用した方が得か否かの判断も任され
ることになり、これまでのスロットマシンにはない新た
なゲーム性も付加されるようになる。

Claims (4)

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 １ゲームあたりの投資価値を入力してか
    らゲームが開始され、そのゲームについて入賞が得られ
    たときには、入賞の種類ごとに決められた価値の入賞配
    当が支払われるスロットマシンにおいて、前記投資価値
    の入力とは別にゲーム開始前に入力された保険投資価値
    が、予め決められた価値に達したことを検知して保険信
    号を出力する保険信号発生手段と、前記保険信号の出力
    期間中に入力された１ゲームごとの投資価値を積算する
    積算手段と、この積算手段における積算値が所定値に達
    したことを検知し、規定の価値をもった保険配当を支払
    うための信号を出力する保険配当信号発生手段と、前記
    保険配当信号の出力に応答して前記積算手段の積算値を
    クリアするとともに保険信号の出力を断つリセット手段
    とを備えたことを特徴とするスロットマシン。
  2. 【請求項２】 前記リセット手段は、特定種類の入賞が
    発生したときにも作動することを特徴とする請求項１記
    載のスロットマシン。
  3. 【請求項３】 前記保険信号を検知して保険期間が開始
    されたことを表示する第１表示器と、前記積算手段にお
    ける積算値を表示する第２表示器とを有することを特徴
    とする請求項１もしくは請求項２記載のスロットマシ
    ン。
  4. 【請求項４】 １ゲームあたりの投資価値を入力してか
    らゲームが開始され、そのゲームについて入賞が得られ
    たときには、入賞の種類ごとに決められた価値の入賞配
    当が支払われるスロットマシンにおいて、前記投資価値
    の入力とは別にゲーム開始前に入力された保険投資価値
    が、予め決められた価値に達したことを検知して保険信
    号を出力する保険信号発生手段と、前記保険信号の出力
    期間中に行われたゲームの回数を積算する積算手段と、
    この積算手段における積算値が所定値に達したことを検
    知し、規定の価値をもった保険配当を支払うための信号
    を出力する保険配当信号発生手段と、前記保険配当信号
    の出力に応答して前記積算手段の積算値をクリアすると
    ともに保険信号の出力を断つリセット手段とを備えたこ
    とを特徴とするスロットマシン。
