Description
[0001] 本出願は、2015年6月22日に出願された、米国特許出願第14/745,799号の継続出願であり、その開示は、参照により本明細書に組み込まれる。
[0022] 本技術は、自律的に、ユーザーまたは乗客を目的地まで誘導する、例えば、旅行する、ための自律走行車サービスに関する。それを行うために、ユーザーは、出迎え場所および旅行の1つ以上の目的地の場所を、携帯電話などの、クライアントコンピューティング装置を経由して、集中配車システム(centralized dispatching system)に提供し得る。しかし、全ての場所がアクセス可能であるか、または、乗客を出迎えるため、車両を停止して、乗客が何らかの用事を行って車両に戻るのを待つため、もしくは、車両が乗客を降ろすために、安全であるとは限らない。例えば、自律走行車は、人間が運転する車両が行けるどんな場所にも行けるとは限らない。加えて、工事、緊急サービス活動、および速度制限(自律走行車が走行するか、または乗客を出迎えたり降ろしたりするには高すぎるものもあり得る)などの道路状況により、自律走行車に対して複雑さが提起され、乗客の出迎えまたは降車に対して安全問題が提起され得る。これに対処するため、場所が提供される場合、集中配車システムは、自律走行車が乗客を出迎えることができる場所(出迎え場所)、または車両がさらなる乗客を待つか、停止して、乗客が何らかの用事を行って車両に戻るのを待つか、または車両が乗客を降ろすことができる場所(目的地の場所)に対応する1つ以上の推奨場所の集合を提供し得る。これらの推奨場所は、ユーザーによって提供されたものおよび/または近くの便利な場所を含み得る。従って、本明細書で説明する特徴は、自律走行車のサービスの可用性、安全性、および有用性を向上させ得る。
[0031] 図1および図2に示すように、本開示の一態様に従ったシステム100は、車両100Aおよび100Bなどの様々な構成要素を含む。本開示のある態様は特定のタイプの車両に関して特に有用であるが、車両は、乗用車、トラック、オートバイ、バス、レクリエーショナルビークルなどを含むが、それらに限定されない任意のタイプの車両であり得る。車両は、1つ以上のプロセッサ102、メモリ104、データ108、命令106、および自律運転モードを備えた車両に通常存在する他の構成要素を含むコンピューティング装置101(図2に示す)など、1つ以上のコンピューティング装置を有し得る。この観点から、コンピューティング装置101は、車両100Aを、例えば、出迎え場所と目的地の場所との間で誘導するために、車両100Aの態様を制御できる自律運転システムであり得る。加えて、車両100Bは、車両100Aと同じか、または同様に構成され得る。
Claims (20)
- 車両が乗客を出迎えるか、または降ろすことが可能な複数の所定の場所を識別する詳細な地図情報を格納するメモリと、
各々が1つ以上のプロセッサを有する1つ以上のサーバーコンピュータであって、
第1の場所を識別する、要求を、クライアントコンピューティング装置から受信することと、
前記所定の場所を前記第1の場所と比較することにより、1つ以上の推奨場所の集合を選択することと、
1つ以上の推奨場所の前記集合を前記クライアントコンピューティング装置に提供することと
を行うように構成されている、1つ以上のサーバーコンピュータと
を備える、システム。 - 前記1つ以上のサーバーコンピュータは、
前記第1の場所が所定の場所と一致するかどうかを判断すること、および
前記第1の場所が前記所定の場所と一致する場合、前記所定の場所を前記集合に含めること
により、1つ以上の推奨場所の前記集合を選択するように構成される、
請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 前記1つ以上のサーバーコンピュータは、前記第1の場所の閾値距離内にある前記複数の所定の場所のうちの所定の場所を識別することにより、1つ以上の推奨場所の前記集合を選択するように構成される、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記閾値距離は、歩いて行ける距離として定義される、請求項3に記載のシステム。
- 前記閾値距離は、半径距離として定義される、請求項3に記載のシステム。
- 前記1つ以上のサーバーコンピュータは、
前記識別された所定の場所の各所与の1つを、人が前記第1の場所から、前記識別された所定の場所のその所与の1つに到着する際の困難さに関連した第1の複数の要因に基づいて、点数を付けること
により、1つ以上の推奨場所の前記集合を選択するように構成され、
1つ以上の推奨場所の前記集合は、前記識別された所定の場所の前記点数付けに基づいてさらに選択される
請求項3に記載のシステム。 - 前記1つ以上のサーバーコンピュータは、前記識別された所定の場所の各所与の1つの前記点数付けを、自律走行車が前記識別された所定の場所のその所与の1つに到着および停止する際の困難さに関連した第2の複数の要因にさらに基づいて実施するように構成される、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記1つ以上のサーバーコンピュータは、前記第2の複数の要因の少なくとも1つを、前記自動走行車の現在位置に基づいて判断するようにさらに構成される、請求項7に記載のシステム。
- 前記1つ以上のサーバーコンピュータは、前記第1の場所の閾値距離内であって、前記第1の場所に最も近い前記複数の所与の場所の設定数の所定の場所を識別することにより、1つ以上の推奨場所の前記集合を選択するように構成される、請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 1台以上の自律走行車をさらに含み、かつ前記1つ以上のサーバーコンピュータは、
前記クライアントコンピューティング装置から、1つ以上の推奨場所の前記集合のうちの1つの推奨場所の選択を受信することと、
前記1台以上の自律走行車のうちの1台の車両を前記選択された推奨場所に派遣することと
を行うようにさらに構成される、
請求項9に記載のシステム。 - 前記第1の場所は、目的地の場所であり、前記1つ以上のサーバーコンピューティング装置は、
前記クライアントコンピューティング装置から、前記第1の場所を前記目的地の場所として確認する情報を受信することと、
乗客を前記第1の場所で降ろす命令を車両に提供することと
を行うようにさらに構成される、
請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 前記第1の場所は出迎え場所であり、前記1つ以上のサーバーコンピューティング装置は、
前記クライアントコンピューティング装置から、前記第1の場所を前記出迎え場所として確認する情報を受信することと、
車両を前記第1の場所に派遣することと
を行うようにさらに構成される、
請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 1つ以上のサーバーコンピューティング装置の1つ以上のプロセッサにより、車両が乗客を出迎えるか、または降ろすことが可能な複数の所定の場所を識別する詳細な地図情報にアクセスすることと、
前記1つ以上のプロセッサにより、第1の場所を識別する要求を、クライアントコンピューティング装置から受信することと、
前記1つ以上のプロセッサにより、前記所定の場所を前記第1の場所と比較して、前記第1の場所の閾値距離内にあって、前記第1の場所に最も近い前記複数の所定の場所のうちの所定の場所を識別することによって、1つ以上の推奨場所の集合を選択することと、
前記1つ以上のプロセッサにより、1つ以上の推奨場所の前記集合を前記クライアントコンピューティング装置に提供することと
を含む、コンピュータ実装方法。 - 1つ以上の推奨場所の前記集合を選択することは、
前記第1の場所が所定の場所と一致するかどうかを判断することと、
前記第1の場所が前記所定の場所と一致する場合、前記所定の場所を前記集合に含めることと、
を含む、請求項13に記載の方法。 - 前記集合を選択することは、前記第1の場所の閾値距離内にあって、前記第1の場所に最も近い前記複数の所定の場所のうちの所定の数の所定の場所を選択することを含む、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 前記閾値距離は、歩いて行ける距離として定義される、請求項13に記載の方法。

- 1つ以上の推奨場所の前記集合を選択することは、

前記識別された所定の場所の前記点数付けを使用して1つ以上の推奨場所の前記集合を選択することと
を含む、請求項13に記載の方法。 - 前記識別された所定の場所の各所与の1つの前記点数付けは、自律走行車が前記識別された所定の場所のその所与の1つに到着および停止する際の困難さに関連した第2の複数の要因に基づいて実施される、請求項18に記載の方法。
- 命令がその上に格納される、持続性有形的コンピュータ可読媒体であって、前記命令は、1つ以上のプロセッサによって実行される場合、前記1つ以上のプロセッサに、
車両が乗客を出迎えるか、または降ろすことが可能な複数の所定の場所を識別する詳細な地図情報にアクセスすることと、
第1の場所を識別する要求を、クライアントコンピューティング装置から受信することと、
前記所定の場所を前記第1の場所と比較することにより、1つ以上の推奨場所の集合を選択することと、
前記複数の所定の場所の所与の場所に、人が前記第1の場所から、前記識別された所定の場所のそれぞれの所与の1つに到着する際の困難さに関連した第1の複数の要因に基づいて、点数を付けることと、
1つ以上の推奨場所の前記集合を前記クライアントコンピューティング装置に提供することと、
前記第1の場所で停止する命令を車両に提供することと
を含む方法を実行させる、
持続性有形的コンピュータ可読媒体。
