また、本願は、「手持ち式携帯型後方散乱検査システム」と題され、2015年3月20日に出願された米国特許仮出願第62/136,305号に基づく優先権を主張する。
また、本願は、「手持ち式携帯型後方散乱検査システム」と題され、2015年3月20日に出願された米国特許仮出願第62/136,315号に基づく優先権を主張する。
また、本願は、「手持ち式携帯型後方散乱検査システム」と題され、2015年3月20日に出願された米国特許仮出願第62/136,322号に基づく優先権を主張する。
また、本願は、「手持ち式携帯型後方散乱検査システム」と題され、2015年3月20日に出願された米国特許仮出願第62/136,362号に基づく優先権を主張する。
上述のすべての出願は、その全体が参照用として本明細書に取り込まれている。
図1Aは、手持ち式携帯型X線ベースのスキャンシステム100の実施の形態を示す。このシステムは、撮像システム又は装置としても参照され、手荷物と、コンテナ・箱と、脅威物質や物品、又は手荷物などに隠された人に対する他の同様な物品等の対象物をスクリーニングするために使用される。なお、スクリーニングの対象物は上記に限定されない。システム100は、一の実施の形態において、筐体またはハウジング105の形態に構成される。ハウジング105は、上面110、底部(図1Aでは視認できないが、上面110に対向し且つ実質的に平行)、前面114、後面(図1Aでは視認できないが、前面114に対向し且つ平行)、第1側部118、及び第2側部(図1Aでは視認できないが、第1側部118に対向し且つ平行)を備える。一の実施の形態において、システム100の寸法と重さとは、最適化されて、検査下の対象物をスキャンしながらも、オペレータがハウジングをうまい具合に保持し巧みに操作することが出来るようになっている。一の実施の形態において、ハウジング105は、第1立方体125(前面114を持つ)の形態で、中心の長軸130に沿って、第2立方体135に向かって先細りとなり、後面まで達する。一の実施の形態において、第1立方体125の高さ「H」は、第2立方体135の高さ「h」より高い。しかしながら、様々な実施の形態において、ハウジング105の形状は、円筒、円錐、ピラミッド形、またはその他の適宜の形状を取り得る。特に、一の実施の形態において、ハウジング105は、第1立方体125の形態をとり、後面において中心の長軸130に沿って、第1台形プリズム118に取り付けられる。第1台形のプリズム115は、後面において先細りになり第2台形プリズム135に取り付けられる。
図2Aは、手持ち式携帯型X線ベースのスキャンシステム200の別の実施の形態を図示する。このシステムは、撮像システム又は装置として参照される。このシステム200は、手荷物、コンテナ・箱、そして脅威物質や物品、又はこれらの中に隠された人に対する他の物品等の対象物のスクリーニングに使用される。なお、対象物は、上記に限定されない。実施の形態において、システム200の部品、例えば、ハウジング205、上面210、底部、ハンドル212、前面114、後面、第1側部218、第2側部、第1直方体225、中心長手軸230、及び第2直方体(又は台形プリズム)235は、図1Aに照らして上記した対応する部品と同様に構成されている。これら部品及び対応する変更例は、既に詳細に記載されているので、ここでは記載しない。
図3Aは、手持ち式携帯型X線ベーススキャンシステム300の他の実施の形態を示す。このシステムは撮像システム又は装置と称される。このシステム300は、手荷物、コンテナ・箱、脅威物質や物品、または隠された人に対する同様な物品などの対象物のスクリーニングに使用される。実施の形態において、ハウジング305、上面310、底部、ハンドル312、前面314、後面、第1側部318、第2側部、第1立方体325、中心長手軸330、及び第2立方体(又は台形プリズム)335等のシステム300の部品は、図1Aについて記載した対応する部品と同様に構成されている。これらの部品とその関連する変形例とは既に詳細を記載しているので以下には記載しない。
図4Aは、手持ち式携帯型X線ベーススキャンシステム400の実施の形態を示す。このシステム400は、撮像システム又は装置として参照され、手荷物、コンテナ・箱、及び脅威物質や物品、そこに隠された人に対する同様な物体などの対象物のスクリーニングに使用される。実施の形態において、システム400の部品、例えば、ハウジング405、上面410、底部、ハンドル412、前面414、後面、第1側部418、第2側部、第1立方体425、中心長手軸430、及び第2立方体(又は台形プリズム)435は、図1Aについて記載した対応する部品と同様に構成されている。これらの部品とその関連する変形例は、既に詳細を記載しているので以下に記載しない。
図5Aは、手持ち式携帯型X線ベーススキャンシステム500の実施の形態を示す。このシステム500は、撮像システム又は装置としても称され、手荷物、コンテナ・箱、及び脅威物質や物品、そこに隠された人に対する同様な物体などの対象物のスクリーニングに使用される。実施の形態において、システム500の部品、例えば、ハウジング505、上面510、底部、ハンドル512、前面514、後面、第1側部518、第2側部、第1立方体525、中心長手軸530、及び第2立方体(台形プリズム)535は、図1Aについて説明された対応する部品と同様に構成されている。これらの部品とその関連する変形例は、繰り返しを避けるため以下に記載しない。

Claims (20)
- 成形X線ビームを発するX線管を囲むハウジングと、対象物から散乱されて検出された複数のX線ビームに相当するスキャンデータを生成する複数の検出器と、ジャイロスコープ及び加速度計と通信するプロセッサと、スピーカ、ディスプレイ、前記プロセッサ及び前記複数の検出器と通信する取得システムとを有する手持ち式撮像装置から、前記成形X線ビームを投射することによって対象物をスキャンする方法であって、
前記プロセッサを使用して、対象物上の成形X線ビームの相互作用の位置に相当する複数のアクティブ画素を計算する工程と、
前記プロセッサを使用して、前記複数のアクティブ画素の各々にわたって成形X線ビームが存在する期間を、前記複数のアクティブ画素の各々に対して計算する工程と、
前記プロセッサを使用して、前記期間を使用して、前記複数のアクティブ画素の各々において、スキャンデータを訂正した後の前記対象物の画像を前記ディスプレイ上に生成する工程と
を有することを特徴とする方法。 - 前記成形X線ビームは、ペンシルビーム、ファンビーム、コーンビーム、単一軸回転ビーム、及び二軸回転ビームのうちの少なくとも一つの形状であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記手持ち式撮像装置は、粗いスキャニングパターンを用いて対象物をスキャンするためにスイープされて、前記対象物に関する少なくとも一つの異常を特定し、その後、前記複数のアクティブ画素を計算し、前記期間を計算し、そして前記画像を生成することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも一つの異常は、スピーカにより生成される可聴音の変化に基づいて特定されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記プロセッサ及びスピーカは、前記可聴音のピッチ又は周波数が、前記スキャンデータに比例して変化するように、前記可聴音を生成するように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも一つの異常の識別に際し、前記手持ち式撮像装置は、微細スキャニングパターンを使用して対象物をスキャンするためにスイープされて、前記複数のアクティブ画素を計算し、前記期間を計算し、前記画像を生成することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の方法。
- 更に、プロセッサにより第2データが入力される工程を有し、前記第2データは、前記加速度計により生成されると共に、前記対象物上に投射される成形X線ビームの移動を示し、
前記第2データに基づいて、
前記プロセッサを使用して、前記対象物上の成形X線ビームの相互作用の新しい位置に対応する複数のアクティブ画素を計算する工程と、
前記プロセッサを使用して、前記成形X線ビームが前記複数のアクティブ画素の各々に対し存在する期間を、前記複数のアクティブ画素の各々において計算する工程と、
前記プロセッサを使用して、前記期間を用いて前記複数のアクティブ画素の各々に対し、前記スキャンデータを訂正した後の前記対象物の更新された画像を前記ディスプレイ上に生成する工程と
を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記新しい位置は、前記ジャイロスコープにより生成された更新された第1データに関連し、
前記更新された第1データは、前記対象物上に投射される成形X線ビームの新しい方向を示すことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の方法。 - 前記取得システムは、0.01msから100msまでの間のサンプリング期間に亘り前記検出スキャンデータを合計することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記取得システムは、1msのサンプリング期間に亘り前記検出スキャンデータを合計することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記X線管の電圧は、30kVから100kVまでの範囲にあることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記X線管の電流は、0.1mAから5mAまでの範囲にあることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記位置は、前記ジャイロスコープにより生成された第1データと関係し、前記第1データは、前記対象物上に投射される成形X線ビームの方向を示すことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 成形X線ビームを投射することによって対象物をスキャンする手持ち式撮像装置であって、
中心に長手軸を有するハウジングを備え、
前記ハウジングは、
前記対象物から散乱されて検出された複数のX線ビームに相当するスキャンデータを生成する複数の検出器と、
ジャイロスコープと、
加速度計と、
ディスプレイ及び前記複数の検出器と通信する取得システムと、
前記ジャイロスコープ、前記加速度計および前記取得システムと通信するプロセッサとを備え、
前記プロセッサは、
対象物上の前記成形X線ビームの相互作用の位置に対応する複数のアクティブ画素を計算し、
成形X線ビームが前記複数のアクティブ画素の各々に亘り存在する期間を、前記複数のアクティブ画素の各々において計算し、
前記期間を用いて前記複数のアクティブ画素のそれぞれにおいて、スキャンデータを訂正した後の前記対象物の画像を前記ディスプレイ上に生成するように構成されたことを特徴とする手持ち式撮像装置。 - 前記成形X線ビームは、ペンシルビーム、ファンビーム、コーンビーム、単一軸回転ビーム、そして二軸回転ビームの少なくとも一つの形状であることを特徴とする請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記ハウジングは、上面、前記上面と対向し且つ平行な底部、前面、前記前面と対向し且つ平行な後面、第1側部、及び前記第1側部と対向し且つ平行な第2側部を備え、前記上面は少なくとも一つのハンドルを備えることを特徴とする請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記ハウジングは、前記前面を支えている第1立方体として構成され、台形プリズムに向かって前記中心長手軸に沿って先細りになって前記後面に到達していることを特徴とする請求項16記載の装置。
- 前記成形X線ビームは、前記前面の中央の開口を通過して前記前面と実質的に垂直な方向に発せられることを特徴とする請求項16記載の装置。
- 前記複数の検出器は、前記前面の近傍及び後方に位置して前記前面の中心の前記開口を取り囲むことを特徴とする請求項18に記載の装置。
- 更にスピーカを備え、前記プロセッサ及びスピーカは、可聴音を生成するように構成され、前記可聴音のピッチ又は周波数は、前記スキャンデータに比例して変化することを特徴とする請求項14に記載の装置。
