Abstract
【解決手段】ガラス基板245の一主面上の複数の環状の凹部には熱伝導性の金属610が堆積されており、複数の環状の凸部の頂部と、複数の環状の凹部に堆積された複数の熱伝導性の金属の頂部とは、面一とされており、その上に形成された磁気記録層202,204を有し、この磁気記録層において複数の熱伝導性の金属の頂部上に設けられている部分を複数の磁気データトラック103とする。

Description
保存媒体はサーボパターンを含み、光は保存媒体からの光の反射に基づく保存位置へ向かう。サーボパターンはくぼみ又は隆起した形からなる。保存媒体は、センターと、複数のデータトラックと複数の熱指向機能とからなり、複数のデータトラック及び複数の熱指向機能はセンターの回りに配置され、複数の熱指向機能の交互の機能はデータトラックの夫々の交互トラック間に配置される。熱指向機能はチャンネル及び/又はメサからなる。
ディスク107は、複数の均一でしかも円周上に離間し、中心から外に向かって隣接して伸長するくさび形サーボセクタ212へ、円周上に分割される。
対応する複数のくさび形で、離間したデータセクタ216は、各サーボセクタ212の組の夫々の間に円周上に介在し、隣接する。データセクタ216はディスク107に情報を保存させるために利用される磁気ドメイン281からなる複数のデータビット(マーク)を含む。磁気データドメイン281マークは、データトラック103に沿って一定の直線空間で分離されている。データトラック103は名目一定半径方向のデータトラックピッチTpで、放射状に離間している。
滑動体444は工業上基準である“ミリ”、“ナノ”、“ピコ”のスライダを含むが、別に寸法滑動体444も利用可能である。
前述の最後の二つの問題は、本発明により、以下に説明するように取り組んだ。
図5a-cを参照するに、本発明の保存及び読出し層の図面が示される。以下の説明は、ディスク107のデータセクタ216からなるデータトラック103から情報に、発振レーザビーム191が、どのように選択的にアクセスするように利用されるかをまとめたものである。
からなる保存位置に書き込むことができる。保存層202が水平異方性を示す実施例において(例えば、CoCr)、P1、P2、C素子は、平面配向(図5b)で長手方向にデータドメインマーク281は配向し、一方保存層202が垂直異方性(例えばTbFeCo)を示す材料からなる実施例では、データドメインマーク281は平面配向から外れて垂直に配向する(図5c)。
要約すると、発振レーザビーム191と反射レーザビーム192は、光学サーボシステムの一部として利用され、フライングヘッド106を特定データトラック上の中央に維持させる。先行技術の光学ドライブとは異なり、発振レーザビーム191は保存及び読出し層202、204を加熱させるために利用される。書き込み温度より低い温度へ加熱されるとき、読出し層は保存層202から読出し層204へデータドメインマーク281をコピーし、フライングヘッド106は開口部580ないの磁気ドメインの配向を感知する。ヘッド106を含む素子の大きさはデータトラック103ピッチよりも幅広であるけれども、発振レーザビーム191により形成された温度プロファイルは、(クロストラック方向に)書き込まれたデータドメインマーク281の縁部を限定することが好ましい。よって、書き込みよりも狭くデータドメインマーク281を読取ることが可能であり、システム100のトラック保存密度を増大させる。
垂直の拡散過程を理解するために、図5aに示す温度プロファイル279は、流動体が流れるスクリーンとして類推することができる。垂直の流れにはより急な勾配(流動体高さの変化の速度)が生じる。垂直の流れは速いときには、ディスク107の隣接データトラック103は、流動体高さに類似した熱はほとんど見られない。よって、仮に垂直と横の拡散比を調整することができないのなら、隣接データトラック103は重ね書き込みがされ及び/又は不規則な形のデータドメインマーク281が形成されるであろう。よって、素子S1、MR、S2により、正しい読取り用のデータドメインマーク281の形成を制御したいと考える。
光学データ保存ディスク用の従来のエンボス工程において、一般には、各ピットの深さは1/4波長、例えば赤色光では約160nmの深さである。したがって、従来のピットでは、ピットの深さ許容範囲の変動により検出反射信号における変動が生じる。対照的に、本発明では、ピット215から誘導される信号149(図1)は、充填材料の反射率の関数であり、先行技術におけるピットの深さに必要とされる比較的きつい公差ではない。
図7aを参照するに、一定半径を有するピットから誘導された信号を示す。先に述べたように、本発明のサーボセクタ212は自動ゲイン制御フィールド’(AGC)を利用する若しくは利用しない。AGCフィールドが利用されず、ピットが対応するディスクの半径以上の一定のサイズであるならば、ディスクの内部半径対外部半径での遅い速度のために、ピットから誘導される信号は変化する。
Claims (12)
- 磁気記録および再生システムにおいて、
(A)回転可能なデータ保存用磁気ディスクであって、
(1)ガラス基板の一主面上に環状の凹凸を設けることにより形成された、複数の環状の凹部と、半径方向熱伝導遮断パターンとして機能する複数の環状の凸部とを有し、前記複数の環状の凹部にはいずれも熱伝導性の金属が堆積されており、
(2)前記複数の環状の凸部の頂部と、前記複数の環状の凹部に堆積された複数の熱伝導性の金属の頂部とは、面一とされており、その上に形成された磁気記録層を有し、
(3)前記磁気記録層において前記複数の熱伝導性の金属の頂部上に設けられている部分を複数の磁気データトラックとする
データ保持用磁気ディスクと、
(B)前記データ保存用磁気ディスクの上に配置可能なフライングヘッドであって、
(1)前記磁気データトラックを選択的に加熱する少なくとも1つのレーザスポットを発生させる少なくとも1つの光学素子、
(2)前記レーザスポットによって加熱された領域内の前記磁気データトラックにデータを書き込むように配置された少なくとも1つの磁気書き込み素子、および
(3)前記磁気データトラックから磁界を検出することによってデータを読み取るように配置された少なくとも1つの磁気抵抗感知素子
を有するフライングヘッドと
を有する磁気記録および再生システム。 - 前記熱伝導性の金属は、アルミニウムまたはパーマロイである、請求項1に記載の磁気記録および再生システム。
- 隣接する磁気データトラック間に配置された環状の凸部は、前記ガラス基板の部分で形成されたメサである、請求項1または2に記載の磁気記録および再生システム。
- 前記磁気データトラックがアモルファス材料の単一層を含む請求項1に記載の磁気記録および再生システム。
- 前記磁気データトラックが読出し層および保存層を含む請求項1に記載の磁気記録および再生システム。
- 前記少なくとも1つの磁気抵抗感知素子が、前記レーザスポットによって加熱される前記領域でデータを読取るように配置される請求項1に記載の磁気記録および再生システム。
- 前記複数の磁気データトラックが、垂直に配向された複数の磁気ドメインを有する請求項1に記載の磁気記録および再生システム。
- 前記複数の磁気データトラックが、水平に配向された複数の磁気ドメインを有する請求項1に記載の磁気記録および再生システム。
- 前記複数の磁気データトラックが同一平面内に位置している請求項1に記載の磁気記録および再生システム。
- 前記磁気記録層が前記半径方向熱伝導遮断パターンより上に形成されている、請求項1に記載の磁気記録および再生システム。
- 前記少なくとも1つの光学素子が、前記データ保存用磁気ディスクを半径方向に横切るように前記レーザスポットを方向付けるための手段を有する請求項1に記載の磁気記録および再生システム。
- 前記レーザスポットを方向付けるための手段が、操縦可能なミラーを有する請求項11に記載の磁気記録および再生システム。
