Abstract
【解決手段】本発明は液晶表示装置に関し、この装置は第1及び第2副画素を有する複数の画素と、第1及び第2副画素に接続されていてゲート信号を伝達する複数のゲート線と、ゲート線と交差し、第1副画素に接続されていて第1データ電圧を伝達する複数の第1データ線と、ゲート線と交差し、第2副画素に接続されていて第2データ電圧を伝達する複数の第2データ線とを有する。第1データ電圧と第2データ電圧とは1つの映像情報から得られる互いに異なる大きさの電圧である。

Description
表示信号線G1〜Gn、D1〜D2mは、ゲート信号(“走査信号"とも言う)を伝達する複数のゲート線G1〜Gnと、データ信号を伝達するデータ線D1〜D2mとを有する。ゲート線G1〜Gnはほぼ行方向に延在しており、互いにほとんど平行し、データ線D1〜D2mはほぼ列方向に延在しており、互いにほとんど平行する。一つの画素PXの両側に各々一つのデータ線D1〜D2mが配置されている。また、表示信号線はゲート線G1〜Gnとデータ線D1〜D2m以外にも、ゲート線G1〜Gnとほとんど並んで延在した維持電極線を有することができる。

Claims (25)
- 第1副画素及び第2副画素を含む複数の画素と、
前記第1及び第2副画素に接続されていて、第1方向に延在してゲート信号を伝達する複数のゲート線と、
前記第1及び第2副画素と重畳する維持電極を含む維持電極線と、
第2方向に延在して前記ゲート線と交差し、前記第1副画素に接続されていて、第1データ電圧を伝達する複数の第1データ線と、
第2方向に延在して前記ゲート線と交差し、前記第2副画素に接続されていて、第2データ電圧を伝達する複数の第2データ線と、
を有し、
前記第1データ電圧と前記第2データ電圧との大きさは互いに異なり、前記第1データ電圧と前記第2データ電圧は一つの映像情報から得られ、
前記第1副画素は、第1薄膜トランジスタにより前記ゲート線及び前記第1データ線に接続され、
前記第2副画素は、第2薄膜トランジスタにより前記ゲート線及び前記第2データ線に接続され、
前記第1副画素は第1接触孔を通じて前記第1薄膜トランジスタの第1ドレイン電極に接続されている第1副画素電極を有し、
前記第2副画素は第2接触孔を通じて前記第2薄膜トランジスタの第2ドレイン電極に接続されている第2副画素電極を有し、
前記第1接触孔及び前記第2接触孔は前記維持電極と重畳する、液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1薄膜トランジスタの入力電極及び出力電極は、前記第2薄膜トランジスタの入力電極及び出力電極と互いに対称をなす、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1及び第2副画素電極のうちの少なくとも一つは切開部を有する、請求項1または2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1及び第2副画素電極と対向する共通電極をさらに有する、請求項1または2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記共通電極は切開部または突起を有する、請求項4に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1及び第2データ線と少なくとも一部分が重畳し、前記第1及び第2データ線と電気的に絶縁されている遮蔽電極をさらに有し、
前記遮蔽電極は透明な導電層を含む、請求項1または2に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1副画素電極の面積と前記第2副画素電極の面積とは異なる、請求項6に記載の液晶表示装置。

- 前記第1副画素の横方向の長さと前記第2副画素の横方向の長さとは異なる、請求項9に記載の液晶表示装置。
