Abstract
Description
本出願は、2005年2月24日に「耐アルカリ性ガラス組成物」の名称で出願された米国特許仮出願番号60/656,579についての35U.S.C.§119(e)に基づく優先権を主張し、該仮出願の記載の全てを参照としてここに組み込む。
本発明は、一般にガラス組成物の分野、そしてより詳しくは充填剤及び修飾剤として適切な耐アルカリ性ガラス組成物に関連する。
ポートランドセメントと水からなる混合物を供給する工程;
耐アルカリ性ガラス粒子(ガラス粒子は本質的にWt%で下記の成分からなる)をスラリー添加する工程;
本質的にWt%で次のような成分からなるガラス製品を提供すること;
実施例A及びBは、ここに記載した方法によって製造された微小粒子の溶出率を、市販グレードのセノスフィア製品、及びいくつかの市販の微小球と比較しながら例証するものである。
アルカリ水溶液を、2.343g/LのLiOH、及び0.080g/LのCa(OH)2を用いてpH約13.0になるように調製した。試験原料として用いたのは、市販の石炭灰セノスフィア(4 Corners power plant社製、フェニックスセメントより発売)、市販のソーダライム微小球(商品名SISCORでSpherical Industrial Solutions社(カナダ国トロント市)より発売)、及び本発明の一つの実施形態により合成的に製造された球形微小粒子で、試料Xとして示されるものである。アルカリ溶液は180℃に熱され、試験原料は5時間浸透するために放置された。固体の投入量は3つの原料全てについて溶液15ml中に0.25gとした。浸出試験は180℃で5時間継続した後に行った。第2表に3つの試験用試料の主な酸化物成分をまとめる。
下記実施例において、さらなる市販の製品、3M−S32:SCOTCHLITE(登録商標)、製造元:3M社、ミネソタ州;PORAVER(登録商標)、製造元:スフェリカル・インダストリアル・ソリューション社、カナダ国トロント市;SPHERIGLASS(登録商標)、製造元:PQ社、米国;及びSIL−CELL(登録商標)、製造元:Silbrico社、米国を試験した。第4表は実施例Bの製品に含まれる主な酸化物の一覧である。
実施例Cの試験は、少量のジルコニアを本発明の実施形態に添加したときの効果を定量することで耐アルカリ性の改善について測定するものである。下記実施例において、試料1A、1B、1C及び1Dを本発明の実施形態により調製した。これらの耐アルカリ性ガラスの試料は、フライアッシュ、水酸化ナトリウム、ケイ酸ジルコニウム及び砂糖からなる処方から製造された。この試料は第6表に示す処方による原料を混合して調製された。
>35%SiO2
1〜25%CaO
1〜15%Fe2O3
1〜10%R2O、及び
SiO2:Al2O3>1となる量のAl2O3。
Claims (33)
- ケイ酸塩ベースのガラス体と;
前記ケイ酸塩ベースのガラス体の外表面に形成された不動態層を含む、
耐アルカリ性ガラスであって、
該不動態層は前記ガラス体の組成と異なる組成を有し、
該不動態層が前記ケイ酸塩ベースのガラス体由来の成分を含ものであり、
該不動態層中の他の材料と組み合わせて該成分は、アルカリ環境下で化学的にほぼ不活性である不動態層となる、
ことを特徴とする耐アルカリ性ガラス。 - 前記成分がカルシウムを含む、請求項1に記載の耐アルカリ性ガラス。
- 前記成分が鉄を含む、請求項1に記載の耐アルカリ性ガラス。
- 前記不動態層が、前記ケイ酸塩ベースのガラス体に比較して酸化鉄に富んでいる、請求項1に記載の耐アルカリ性ガラス。
- 前記不動態層が、前記ケイ酸塩ベースのガラス体に比較してマグネシウム及び/又はカルシウムの酸化物に富んでいる、請求項1に記載の耐アルカリ性ガラス。
- 請求項1に記載の耐アルカリ性ガラスを組み込んだセメント系製品。
- Al2O3の量が約4Wt%以上である、請求項8に記載の耐アルカリ性ガラス。
- 酸化鉄の全ての組み合わせのFe2O3換算で表した量が約3Wt%以上である、請求項8に記載の耐アルカリ性ガラス。
- CaO及びFe2O3の組み合わせが約10Wt%以上である、請求項8に記載の耐アルカリ性ガラス。
- SiO2及びAl2O3の組み合わせが約35〜90Wt%である、請求項8に記載の耐アルカリ性ガラス。
- さらにZrO2及びTiO2の組み合わせを約15Wt%以下で含む、請求項8に記載の耐アルカリ性ガラス。
- 繊維として形成されている請求項8に記載の耐アルカリ性ガラス。
- 1つ以上の中空を有する球として形成されている請求項8に記載の耐アルカリ性ガラス。
- 前記中空球が1時間あたり1kgを超える速度で製造される請求項15に記載の耐アルカリ性ガラス。
- 前記ガラスが不動態層を含む請求項8に記載の耐アルカリ性ガラス。
- 前記不動態層が前記ガラスと比べて酸化鉄に富んでいる請求項17に記載の耐アルカリ性ガラス。
- 前記不動態層が前記ガラスと比べてマグネシウム及び/又はカルシウムの酸化物に富んでいる請求項17に記載の耐アルカリ性ガラス。
- CaO/R2Oのモル比が1より大きい請求項8に記載の耐アルカリ性ガラス。
- 前記ガラスの処理工程が100℃を超える温度で行われる請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記ガラスの処理工程が水性環境下で行われる請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記ガラスの処理工程が100℃未満の温度で行われる請求項21に記載の方法。
- 内表面及び外表面並びにその間の厚みを含む合成のほぼ球形の壁と;
球形壁の外側の不動態層と、
を有する合成微小球。 - 前記不動態層が球形壁の外表面をほぼ覆う請求項25に記載の微小球。
- 前記不動態層が球形壁厚さの約10%より薄い厚さである請求項25に記載の微小球。
- 前記不動態層がpH約12〜14の塩基性の環境において化学的にほぼ不活性である請求項25に記載の微小球。
- 前記不動態層が浸出したガラス成分の結晶性再堆積によって形成される請求項25に記載の微小球。
- 前記不動態層が球形壁に比べてシリカ及びアルミナに富んでいる請求項25に記載の微小球。
