Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento para preparar una fibra de vidrio resistente a álcalis, caracterizado porque comprende calentar una mezcla que incluye un silicato de magnesio y un compuesto que contiene CaO, o un silicato de calcio y un compuesto que contiene MgO arriba de la temperatura de estado líquido de la mezcla, para formar un líquido viscoso, estirar el líquido viscoso para formar una fibra y enfriar la fibra debajo de dicha temperatura de estado líquido.
