Abstract

Claims (22)
- 焦点領域に電磁波を向けるための手段と、
前記電磁波の電界に実質的に平行な長手方向軸線を有し、前記電磁波を向けるための手段の外側に位置する金属ナノ構造体と、
を備え、前記電磁波が金属ナノ構造体上に表面プラズモンを発生させる光トランスジューサ。 - 電磁波を向けるための前記手段の端部に隣接する電磁波に前記金属ナノ構造体がエバネッセント結合している、請求項1記載の光トランスジューサ。
- 電磁波を向けるための前記手段が第1の屈折率を有し、前記金属ナノ構造体が前記第1の屈折率よりも小さい第2の屈折率を有する材料によって囲まれている、請求項1記載の光トランスジューサ。
- 前記ナノ構造体が50nm未満のギャップにより、電磁波を向けるための前記手段の端部から離間している、請求項1記載の光トランスジューサ。
- 前記ナノ構造体が2:1以上のアスペクト比を有する金属ピンを含む、請求項1記載の光トランスジューサ。
- 前記ナノ構造体が尖った先端を有するピンを含む、請求項1記載の光トランスジューサ。
- 前記ナノ構造体が記録媒体内にエネルギーを共振結合できるような大きさとなっている、請求項1記載の光トランスジューサ。
- 電磁波を向けるための前記手段が固体浸漬レンズ、固体浸漬ミラーまたはプレーナー光波ガイドのうちの1つを含む、請求項1記載の光トランスジューサ。
- 前記電磁波が径方向に偏光された光、または直線状に偏光された分割光の1つを含む、請求項1記載の光トランスジューサ。
- 磁気書き込みポールと、
前記磁気書き込みポールに隣接する請求項1記載の光トランスジューサと、
を備えた磁気−光記録ヘッド。 - 記憶媒体を支持するための手段と、
請求項10記載の磁気−光記録ヘッドと、
前記記憶媒体に隣接するように前記磁気−光記録ヘッドを位置決めするための手段と、
を備えたディスクドライブ。 - 第1の屈折率を有し、焦点領域に電磁波を向けるための手段と、
前記焦点領域に位置する金属ナノ構造体と、
電磁波を焦点領域に向けるための前記手段と前記金属ナノ構造体との間に位置し、第2屈折率を有するクラッド材料と、
を備えた光トランスジューサ。 - 前記金属ナノ構造体が記録媒体の存在下で前記電磁波に共振結合するような寸法とされている、請求項12記載の光トランスジューサ。
- 前記クラッド材料の厚みが前記金属ナノ構造体の厚みに満たない、請求項12記載の光トランスジューサ。
- 前記第1屈折率と前記第2屈折率との差が約0.5よりも大きい、請求項12記載の光トランスジューサ。
- 前記金属ナノ構造体の表面に沿って前記クラッド材料の厚みにテーパが付けられている、請求項12記載の光トランスジューサ。
- 前記第2の屈折率が前記第1の屈折率よりも小さい、請求項12記載の光トランスジューサ。
- 前記第2の屈折率が前記第1の屈折率よりも大きい、請求項12記載の光トランスジューサ。
- 電磁波を向けるための前記手段が固体浸漬レンズ、固体浸漬ミラーまたはプレーナー光波ガイドのうちの1つを含む、請求項12記載の光トランスジューサ。
- 前記電磁波が径方向に偏光された光、または直線状に偏光された分割光の1つを含む、請求項12記載の光トランスジューサ。
