Claims (7)
- 記録磁界発生用の主磁極と、
近接場光を発生させるための導電性を有する散乱体と、
前記散乱体に光源からの光を導くための導波路とを備え、
前記導波路によって前記散乱体に導かれる光の偏光方向は、前記散乱体の素子高さ方向に対してほぼ垂直な方向であり、
前記散乱体は、前記主磁極の横に隣接して配置され、近接場光が発生する頂点に向かい幅が徐々に小さくなる断面形状を有し、
前記散乱体の素子高さ方向の長さが、前記主磁極の素子高さ方向の長さに実質的に等しいか、それよりも長く、
前記導波路のコア部の屈折率は、前記導波路と前記主磁極との間のクラッド部の屈折率よりも大きいことを特徴とする熱アシスト記録用ヘッド。 - 請求項1記載の熱アシスト記録用ヘッドにおいて、光源の波長をλ[nm]としたとき、前記散乱体の素子高さ方向の長さが、200[nm]以上、2.06λ−1120[nm]以下であることを特徴とする熱アシスト記録用ヘッド。
- 請求項1記載の熱アシスト記録用ヘッドにおいて、光源の波長λ[nm]が890nm以上であるとき、前記散乱体の素子高さ方向の長さHが、前記散乱体周辺の材質の屈折率をnとしたとき、下記式を満たすことを特徴とする熱アシスト記録用ヘッド。
- 記録磁界発生用の主磁極と、
近接場光を発生させるための導電性を有する散乱体と、
前記散乱体に光源からの光を導くための導波路とを備え、
前記散乱体は、近接場光が発生する頂点に向かい幅が徐々に小さくなる断面形状を有し、
前記散乱体の素子高さ方向の長さが、前記主磁極の素子高さ方向の長さに実質的に等しいか、それよりも長く、
前記導波路の軸に垂直な方向における、前記導波路のコアの前記主磁極側の端と前記散乱体の前記頂点との距離が、−50nm以上100nm以下であることを特徴とする熱アシスト記録用ヘッド。 - 請求項4記載の熱アシスト記録用ヘッドにおいて、前記導波路の軸に垂直な方向における、前記導波路のコアの前記主磁極側の端と前記散乱体の前記頂点との距離が、−10nm以上70nm以下であることを特徴とする熱アシスト記録用ヘッド。
- 請求項1記載の熱アシスト記録用ヘッドにおいて、前記主磁極は前記散乱体の前記頂点に対向する側面に窪みが形成されていることを特徴とする熱アシスト記録用ヘッド。
- 磁気記録媒体と、
前記磁気記録媒体を駆動する媒体駆動部と、
光源と、
記録磁界発生用の主磁極と、近接場光を発生させるための導電性を有する散乱体と、前記散乱体に前記光源からの光を導くための導波路とを備えるヘッドと、
前記ヘッドを前記磁気記録媒体上の所望のトラック位置に位置決めするヘッド駆動部とを備え、
前記導波路によって前記散乱体に導かれる光の偏光方向は、前記散乱体の素子高さ方向に対してほぼ垂直な方向であり、
前記散乱体は、前記主磁極の横に隣接して配置され、近接場光が発生する頂点に向かい幅が徐々に小さくなる断面形状を有し、前記散乱体の素子高さ方向の長さが、前記主磁極の素子高さ方向の長さに実質的に等しいか、それよりも長いことを特徴とする熱アシスト記録装置。
