[Class 7 (ii)] In a device for humidifying the mixture supplied to an engine, a closed vaporizing- chamber d, containing water subjected to the heat of the engine or the exhaust, is connected at its upper part to the induction pipe a by a passage c fitted with a non-return valve e, which prevents the "blowback" from passing into the chamber d when the throttle is suddenly opened. In a modification a second chamber is connected to the passage c and arranged to receive the "blowback."
