Check elastic valves. - The charge supplied to an internalcombustion engine is mixed by a helically-coiled wire spring A<1> positioned in the induction pipe or the carburettor, the coils of the spring being opened by suction. The spring may be of Venturi, conical, or other shape and may be open or closed at the top.
