384,206. Charge-mixing. KœHNI, H., 84, Neubadstrasse, Basle, Switzerland. June 8, 1932, No. 16184. Convention date, June 8, 1931. [Class 7 (ii).] A charge-mixing device located in the induction pipe of an internal - combustion engine is formed as a grid constructed of a flat strip d<1> and a corrugated strip d spirally wound to form passages d<2> for the combustible mixture, the corrugated strip being formed so that in different convolutions of the spiral the corrugations are inclined in different directions. The grid is held between two cruciform supports f<1> and may be composed of copper. A short baffle may extend from the entry side of the grid so that during slow running the mixture is directed towards the outer turns of the spiral.
