Abstract

550,188. Charge-mixing devices. STANHOPE, H. H. Jan. 22, 1942. No. 908. [Class 7(ii)] A mixing device in the induction passage consists of a tube T provided with corrugated and slotted metal fins F, G having lugs fitting in slots S in the tube. The fins are inclined as shown in Fig. 1 and the fin G is also curved to fit the tube. Lugs D on the tube are held between flanges on the carburetter and the induction pipe. A second fin such as G may be fitted above the fin F and the fin F omitted. The Provisional Specification states that two inclined fins are held in place by vertical pieces of metal secured in slots in the tube.
