Abstract

549,915. Mixing charge. SYKES, A. Nov. 12,1941, No. 14570. [Class 7 (ii)] A charge-mixing device comprises a segmental row of teeth disposed in the induction pipe between the carburetter and the engine and extending less than half way round the interior of the induction pipe. As shown, a segmental or ring-shaped flange 4, clamped between the carburetter flange 5 and the induction pipe 7, has a curved part 8 fitting the wall of the induction pipe and provided with teeth 10 twisted at 13, 14 to lie in the direction of the fluid stream. Alternate twists 13, 14 are clockwise and anti-clockwise, and the teeth terminate in a straight-line. The teeth may be inclined as at 10<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 3, in the direction of the fluid stream.
