Abstract
266,706. ClaviÚ, J. B. M. O. Feb. 23, 1926, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors.-An exhaust silencer is formed by helically winding a metal strip which has a plain portion 1 and a corrugated portion 2. Grooves 3, 4 in the portions co-operate when the strip is wound to prevent slipping of the turns. The tube so formed is closed at one end and the other is secured to the exhaust pipe. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the application of the device in general for preventing the propagation of fire or explosion in explosive mixtures, the device being mounted, for example, in the inlet pipe of an internal-combustion engine, thus preventing backfiring into the carburettor. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
