Abstract

192,794. Graef, E. W. Nov. 11, 1921. Vaporizers, external.-A vaporizer 2 is secured to or cast upon the outer face of the exhaust manifold 1 and upon the outer face of the vaporizer is secured by bolts another passage 11. The mixture from the carburettor 10 is directed in various proportions by the part 14a of the throttle through the vaporizer 2 or the cooler passage 11.. The parts 14, 14<a> of the throttle may be relatively adjustable, so that hot mixture only, cold mixture only, or both may be supplied, or they may be in different parts of the pipe and connected by adjustable linkwork. The path of the gases is indicated by the arrows. In a modification the gases after passing through the vaporizer are conveyed to the opposite side of the engine. In this case the chamber 2 surrounds the exhaust pipe. Specifications 5431/10 and 10115/13 are referred to.
