Abstract
104,788. Warhurst, P. E. May 16. 1916. Charge, moistening.-Moist air is supplied to the carburettor intake, or to the induction pipe between the carburettor and the engine, from a chamber A containing an absorbent lining a, upon which water is dropped from a pipe B connected to the cooling-water system, and provided with a vibrating valve b. Air enters at a' and leaves by a pipe D, which may be placed along or coiled round the exhaust pipe to facilitate vaporization of the water. The chamber A may be concave on one side to fit the exhaust pipe, or it may surround the exhaust pipe.
