Abstract
330,932. Robinson, H. W. Jan. 14, 1929. Induction pipes, extra air valves and fittings for.-A chargemixing device comprising long and short helically-twisted blades d mounted in the induction pipe is used in combination with an extra air admission device comprising a suctionactuated ball i, Fig. 2, or piston i<1>, Fig. 9, acting in conjunction with two seats, one seat being adjacent an opening communicating with the atmosphere and the other communicating through a restricted passage b with the induction pipe. The devices may be carried by a plate fitting a adapted to be secured to the induction pipe or manifold, or may be mounted directly on the induction pipe flange. When used in conjunction with a carburettor having a vacuum fuel feed, the air valve is mounted on the vertical limb of a T-shaped fitting the horizontal limb of which communicates with the passage b and forms pa.rt of the suction line to the vacuum tank.
