Abstract

274,430. Brut, G. F. July 17, 1926, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Spray carburettors.-A starting and slow-running device supplies fuel alone at the moment, of starting, and an emulsion of fuel and air subsequently during slow running. A member a seating at r carries two tubes g, h depending into a well in which fuel collects to a depth l when the engine is at rest. The member has two airinlet ducts b and a transverse outlet duct c controlled bv a needle valve e and communicating at both ends with an annular space p from which the fuel or .emulsion is led to the induction pipe through a conduit d. The lower ends of the tubes are closed by a plug i having a calibrated fuel orifice k and the inner tube g has a notched opening m. During starting, fuel only is supplied, and the well becomes emptied subsequently the fuel entering through k is mixed with air entering at b and passing between the tubes to the aperture m.
