Abstract

221,157. Moss, A. H. March 3, 1924. Induction pipes, fittings for.-An extra air valve device of the kind provided with a recess 4 surrounding the induction pipe and separated therefrom by a perforated or slotted partition, is fitted with a priming tap 23 through which liquid fuel is introduced into an enlargement of the recess 4. The enlargement may be provided at 6, 18, or elsewhere, according to the disposition in which the device is mounted, the fuel vapour r being drawn from the enlargement into the induction pipe along with the air. The air supply may be controlled by a Bowden-actuated valve 8, or by a spring-loaded suction-actuated ball valve, which may be provided with means for operating by hand at low suction. Baffles, or an imperforate portion of the partition, may be provided to deflect the air supply into the recess.
