Abstract

142,080. Meyer, J. M. April 23, 1919, [Convention date]. Charge, moistening; cylinders, pipes for. - A device for admitting air and water to the induction pipe comprises a chamber 1 provided with an air inlet 5, a water inlet 18, and an outlet 2 leading to the. induction pipe. The air inlet is controlled by a sleeve 7, the water inlet by a valve 16, and the outlet by a valve 9, the valves 16 and 9 being attached to, and operated by, a piston 10 to the upper side of which suction is transmitted through the passage 13. In a modification, both the air and the water inlets are controlled by the valve 16. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a modification in which the air and water inlets open into the upper part of the casing, the water inlet being controlled by a vertical projection on the upper side of the outlet valve, the under surface of which is open to the suction. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
