Induction pipes, extraair valves for. - A handoperated plunger h working in a tube f connected to the induction pipe or manifold controls an aperture q opening directly to the atmosphere and an opening j communicating with a chamber provided with air inlet ports which are controlled either by a spring-loaded valve l closed by suction, or by a valve coupled to the carburettor throttle valve d. In both constructions the arrangement is such that the air ports in the chamber are closed when the throttle is closed.
