Abstract

301,735. Ellehammer, J. C. Hansen-. Dec. 3, 1927, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors.- A device for facilitating acceleration comprises a chamber divided into two parts 11, 17 by a diaphragm 9, the part 17 of the chamber above the diaphragm communicating through a conduit 7 with the induction pipe between the throttle valve and the engine, and the part 11 of the chamber below the diaphragm communicating through a conduit 1 with the full conduit 2 and through a conduit 13 with the spraying device of the carburettor. The diaphragm carries a member 14 bored axially to form a guide for one stem 16 of a valve 15 adapted to close the fuel conduit. When the throttle is partially closed, the diaphragm is raised by the suction transmitted through the conduit 7, the additional fuel thus admitted to the chamber 11 being forced through the conduit 13 to the carburettor when the throttle is suddenly opened and the diaphragm returns to its normal position.
