Abstract

215,247. Monier, F. Nov. 3, 1922. Addition to 188,636. Spray carburettors.-The carburettor described in the parent Specification is modified by providing an annular chamber 49 communicating with the induction pipe and with the atmosphere through a plugcock 51. The fuel nozzle 8 is supplied through a central tube 5 of the float chamber and opens into an annular chamber 16 which communicates with the induction pipe by an annular orifice 14 and holes 17. The throttle valve 19 is caused to slide on a tube 42 by a handle 22 and levers 20; it has grooves 28 for the slow-running mixture, and a conical valve 26, which is normally kept against a shoulder on the throttle-valve bv a spring, but closes the holes 17 before the throttle is quite home. This allows fuel to collect in the annular chamber 16 and to be used for acceleration when the throttle is suddenly opened. The pressure in the floatchamber is regulated by an annular passage 46 and a duct 47. Specification 213,870 also is referred to.
