Abstract
454,698. Spray carburetters. METROVERGASER AKT.-GES., 62, Stockackerstrasse, Bumplitz, Berne, Switzerland. Jan. 1, 1936, No. 64. Convention date, Jan. 15, 1935. [Class 7 (iii)] A chamber 1 in the float chamber G above the surface of the fuel therein communicates by a tubular member 8, formed with a closed end 12 and longitudinal slots 11, with the induction pipe R below the throttle valve 10, and an idling passage 13 leads from the tubular member 8 to a point above the throttle valve 10. A cylindrical extension 2 depending from the chamber 1 houses the lower end of a tubular nozzle 4 which communicates at its upper end through a passage 6, in a cap 5, with the atmosphere and intermediately and at its lower end with the chamber 1 through slots 7. In operation, air is drawn through the fuel from the passage 6 and a passage 18 leading to channels 15 below the surface of the fuel in the float chamber and the emulsified mixture collects in the chamber 1 to be drawn through the tubular member 8 into the main air stream R. The chamber 1 provides a reserve of mixture for acceleration.
