Abstract

130,976. Sansa, R. Aug. 5, 1918, [Convention date]. Void [Pablished under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Spray carburettors.-To prevent an excessive flow of fuel at high speeds, the space above the fuel in the float chamber 1 is in communication through a duct 27 with the mixing chamber 24 containing a throttle valve 26. The depression above the fuel may be regulated by varying the effective bore of the conduit 27, or by varying, by means of a screwed plug, the area of holes which place the top of the float chamber in communication with the atmosphere. To facilitate starting and slow running, a by-pass nozzle 15 delivers into a passage 17 which communicates at one end with the atmosphere through an adjustable orifice 18 and, at the other end, with the induction pipe near the edge of the throttle valve in its closed position. The main nozzle, of comparatively large diameter, has a restricted orifice at its base.
