Abstract

158,553. Pallas-Zenith Ges. Jan. 22, 1920, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors.- A mixture of constant composition is obtained by providing a suctionactuated regulating device a, for example an air float or valve, in the Venturi-shaped portion b of the induction pipe and supplying the fuel through two pipes c, d, the pipe c opening into a part of the induction pipe where the air passage is controlled by the regulating-device so that the air speed is constant, and the pipe d delivering into a part where the air speed varies with the speed of the engine. The pipes c, d are provided with air inlets g, h, and they may deliver at the same or opposite sides of the induction pipe. The inlets to the pipes c, d and the inlets g, h may be formed as constricted openings. The device may be adapted for different engines by varying the load on the regulating-device or the cross-sectional area of the air passage. Accordirg to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) the regulating- device may be loaded by a spring or by fluid pressure, and the induction pipe may be movable instead of the regulating-device. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
