Abstract
227,979. Davis, E. J., and Murray, F. Dec. 17,1923. Charge, moistening.-To prevent pre-ignition, water is supplied to the air inlet pipe E of a gas engine through a nozzle D which is fed from a constant level chamber through a pipe F provided with cocks A, B and with an open topped tubular projection C in which the water level can be seen. The cock A being open, the cock B is adjusted until a slight disturbance is seen on the surface of the water in the projection C.
