Abstract

398,048. Spray carburetters. BOSCH AKT-.GES., R., 4, Militõrstrasse, Stuttgart, Germany. Oct. 27, 1932, No. 30088. Convention date, Nov. 24, 1931. [Class 7 (iii).] A carburetter having a mixture throttle valve, and a main air valve adapted to be closed at starting, is provided with a valve actuated by the depression in the mixing chamber and adapted to place such chamber in communication with the float-chamber air space only after a pre-determined depression has been created in' the mixing chamber. Projecting from the lower end of the mixing chamber is a cylinder 7. 8 of two diameters containing a correspondingly shaped spring- loaded piston 13, 14 having a recess 20 in the wall of the larger portion. When the main air valve 4 is closed and the engine started, the depression in the mixing chamber is transmitted through a duct 12 to the lower side of the piston causing the latter to descend and, through duct 18 and recess 20, place the duct 12 in communication with pipe 19 leading to the air space of the float chamber 5. Further, the smaller portion of the piston, in descending, uncovers openings 9 through which air is admitted to the mixing chamber, the first opening being preferably uncovered before communication of the float and mixing chambers is completed.
