Abstract

196,132. Dagnall, G. C. Feb. 11, 1922. Lift valves.-A throttle valve A and lock B, preferably of the barrel type as described in Specification 153,397, are combined with a valve D for admitting extra air to the induction pipe. The valves and lock are arranged in a single casting E with flange d<4> adapted to be inserted between the carburettor and induction pipe. The extra air valve comprises two parallel channels d, d<1>, Fig 4, of which d communicates with the induction pipe through holes d<2> and contains a plunger valve F, and also through holes d<3> with the channel d', which is open at its upper end to the atmosphere. The extra air valve may be employed for the injection of petrol at starting.
