Abstract
204,451. Wilson, E. July 25, 1922. Air, moistening. - A means for supplying humidified air to the induction pipe of a gas engine comprises a chamber 1 supplied with water through an inlet 2, a chamber 3 having air inlets 11, and a wick 16 carried by a cover 15 and dipping into the water in the chamber 1. The air is drawn by engine suction through the wick and passes through orifices 18 in a central tube 12 to an outlet 14 communicating with the induction pipe. The orifices 18 are controlled by a sliding piston 19, or by a rotary ported valve, actuated from the accelerator rod 23.
