Abstract

384,181. Spray carburetters. WILDI, T. and GAISER, C., 65, Z³rcherstrasse, Baden, Switzerland. May 13, 1932, No. 13831. [Class 7 (iii).] An axially arranged fuel nozzle 22 discharges downwardly into a Venturi tube 7 which is heated by contact with the engine, and transmits the heat to a casing 16 through apertures in which the main air supply is admitted. The upper end of the nozzle is surrounded by a casing 3 to which fuel is supplied through a duct 13, and air through a tube 14. Above the casing is a chamber 4 which communicates with the chamber 3 bv a tube 9 and with the induction pipe on the engine side of the throttle valve 6 through a tube 5. Small air inlets 10, 11 are provided in chamber 4 and on pipe 5. When the throttle is closed, fuel is drawn from the chamber 4, but on the throttle being opened the fuel in chamber 4 flows to the casing 3 and thence through the nozzle thus facilitating acceleration.
