Spray carburettors.-In a carburettor provided with a light fuel nozzle d and a heavy fuel nozzle p brought into action in succession by a throttle valve u, light fuel for starting is delivered to the induction pipe beyond the throttle by a narrow tube t dipping into the light fuel nozzle. The chamber f containing the light fuel nozzle is provided with an air inlet g, and its outlet h is closed by a projection x as the throttle is opened. The air supply to the heavy fuel nozzle may be heated, and the heavy fuel mixture passes over exhaustheated tubes m.
