Abstract

258,916. Vidal, J. M. June 4, 1925. Spray carburettors.-Additional mixture is supplied to the induction pipe and to the air inlet of the usual carburettor from a vessel 10 bolted to the exhaust tube and provided at one end with a suction-actuated air inlet valve 13 and a spraying-device 7 fed by gravity from a fuel tank. The fuel passes through the branches 7<a> of the sprayer to the cap 8 and then through the branches 9<a> to the nozzle 9. Part of the heated mixture passes through a filter 15 to an outlet pipe 18 opening into the induction pipe between the carburettor and the engine, and part passes through a pipe 29 to the air inlet of the usual carburettor. Suction-actuated air valves are situated on the pipe 18 adjacent the induction pipe, and on the induction pipe between the outlet of the pipe 18 and the engine. A relief valve is fitted to the vessel 10.
