Abstract

198,617. Napier & Son, Ltd., D., and Wilkinson, G. S. Nov. 7, 1922. Spray carburettors.-The nozzle E is carried by a member D forming an integral part of the floatchamber A to which the mixing-chamber is attached by a joint H, which lies at such an angle to the vertical that the float-chamber and its nozzle can be removed from the mixing-chamber in an approximately horizontal plane without dismantling any part of the carburettor except the fuel pipe. The part F of the float-chamber is dished and secured to the mixing-chamber by bolts. A plug E<1> permits of the removal of the nozzle and the fuel is filtered at M. The throttle is of the rotary plug type and the float-chamber communicates through separate passages with the air inlet and choke tube, the passages being controlled by a valve according to altitude.
