Abstract

136,440. Pickard, T. B., and Neal, C. N. April 14, 1919. Spray carburettors.-The fuel nozzle 22 projects into an air passage 17 which delivers into the main air-tube 12 below the throttle valve 20. The tube 17 contains near its inlet a valve 21 which may be adjusted with, or independently of, the throttle 20. The fuel rising through a small orifice 23 collects in a chamber 15, which may have an adjustable air orifice near the top. An adjustable by-pass 28 leads to the induction pipe 12 beyond the throttle valve 20 for starting. The float chamber is mounted to turn about a vertical pivot 8, upon which it can be adjusted vertically by nuts 6, 7.
