Abstract

143,079. Negro, G., and Tacco, A. June 24,1919. Spray carburettors.-A fuel reservoir for starting is of adjustable capacity and is arranged directly below the spray nozzle; air may be admitted to the reservoir through an adjustable inlet. Fig. 2 shows the reservoir 109 supplied from the float chamber by a passage 104 and adjusted in capacity by a screwed plug 121, which is replaced, in another form, bv a number of metal cylinders, more or less of which are introduced into the reservoir to alter its fuel capacity; a piston device may, alternatively, be used. For slow running, a by-pass 114 leads from the reservoir 109 to a port 115, by which air also enters the induction pipe under the control of a screw 117; a screw 118 regulates the flow of fuel from the passage 114 to the port 115. Fig. 3 shows diagrammatically the same parts with the addition of the air inlet 125 to the reservoir, having a permanent adjustment 126 and also, particularly in the case of aircraft, a separate hand control 127.
