Abstract

664,175. Carburetting. L'ORANGE, R. Feb. 2, 1949, No. 2884/49. Class 7(iii) In a fuel-supply nozzle in which part of the fuel accumulated in an auxiliary chamber G passes through an injection nozzle L into an ignition chamber C which produces pressure to inject the remainder of the fuel from the auxiliary chamber through a second injection nozzle M into the engine cylinder, the two injection nozzles, the auxiliary chamber and a gas nozzle passage K interconnecting the ignition chamber and the cylinder are formed in a single body D which is separate from and arranged inside the cylinder cover A. The ignition chamber C, is held by a screw B on to the body D and is cooled by the medium circulating within the cover A. In a modification for a four-stroke engine, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), the nozzle passage K may be oblique, e.g. at an angle of 30-60 degrees to the cylinder, or have a right-angle bend therein together with a. glow-plug and a pre-heating device respectively in the ignition chamber C.
